Could rebels make use of militia-style unit progression?

Post by Magirot »

Militia currently receive models with a 30 turn lag. It would be neat if same progression could be applied to rebel units too. It would keep regular revolts (and things like the Rebellion negative fate stratagem) a bit more of a risk even in mid and late game.

I think they should yes. It would also be interesting to be able to support foreign rebels so they use better technology.

I agree with this suggestion. Rebels being stuck with garbage-tier equipment means that the only real threat they pose is screwing over your fronts by spawning on/near your supply lines.

30-turn-old equipment is still generally extremely bad, but at least it doesn't get deleted by a single 50mm steel armor light tank battalion forever.

I'd even go so far as to say they should have some up to date stuff. They are treated as being dangerous, so they should be dangerous.

I think the rebels become more dangerous over time but based upon turn number rather than tech of those they are rebelling against. They basically use the same units as free folk marauders and the like, the generic militia units.
