Player#1/Player#2 switch sides. Retreat hex??

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Player#1/Player#2 switch sides. Retreat hex??

Post by Jack »

Has anyone else noticed that the retreat hexes can get on the wrong side when playing PBEM game?
I always make my own map or use someone else's map. I am having a game against Drex and our hexes for retreating are on the wrong side. Say player one is the US and two, is the German. The program for some reason stays on the default setting. What did we do wrong?

The location of the retreat hex and the reinforcement hexes is determined by the date and participants when the map is created. That is, if you set Player One to German, and Player Two to Soviet, in 1942, the German retreat flag will be placed on the left side. If you play a game set in 1944, with this map, and Player One is German, the flag will stay on the left, and the German troops will deploy on the right.

I usually use a random map in PBEM games, so this doesn't happen.

Howdy :)

Post map to me so I'll fix it, once :D

but its not a big deal, just needs some use of editor: If US is player one you'll have to check retreat -flags in custom maps. Editor assumes that German is player 1 while you are doing a map, this is why they get easily messed. ( Unless you set US to player 1 from the beginning ) Anyway, -open map in editor and re-deploy reinforcement and retreat flags to both sides by using keys

0 for player ones retreat-flag,
1 to set player twos retreat-flag,

2,3,4,5 to set player ones reinforcements-flags and

6,7,8,9 for player two.

you can also check that button in editor / toolbox, at its lower left-corner is two arrows, click it to change germany to right side of the map. This is because of deploylines, and is forgotten usually when doing these side-changes ;)

mosh
salute

mosh

If its not rotten, shoot again
