Ground unit filters

Post by Chris21wen »

Any scen v11.26a. Ex from scen #1

Are they not working correctly? Could some one look and comment please incase it's me of a screwed game.

Three things I've noticed

Toggling through [S][R](R), the temp restricted (R) filter does not list just temp restricted units. E.g. the 101st NCPC.
Very few if any of these temp restricted units actual has (r) after they name in any screen you wish to look at. So why use (R)?
The filter titles are confusing. [R]restricted attached and (R)restricted attached are so similar that confusion is easy. Better something like Perm [R]restricted and Temp (R)restricted.

I guess all you need to know in those screens is this: WHITE-colored HQ --- an attached LCU can be bought with PPs. GREY-colored HQ - an LCU is permanently attached to its HQ and cannot be bought out with PPs.

In that screenshot, the [R] after the HQs refers to the HQ status. The units listed in yellow are the ones that have an (R) status (which is not shown after each unit because you have filtered for it so it would be redundant to show there).

Agreed, however why is a unit that cannot change it's attaachment in list for temp restricted units when its not.

Never nentioned HQ this is about the units.

I don't understand why you think the unit 101st NCPC Rte Bde is restricted. Its 101st NCPC ARMY HQ is, but the Bde is not showing any restriction.

Your not getting it. I'll try again.

The pic shows only (R)estricted units or temporary restricted which implies you cannot change any unit's hq attachment if it appears on the list. You cannot do this with the the 101 NCPC, nor with 102 and 105 uou can see. Yes, it isn't showing any restrictions but it is restricted. You cannot change it's attachment.

It also appears in the list of [R] units which is were it should be. It cannot be in both.

You're right. I didn't see where the unit was listed as restricted anywhere but should have guessed you had that info. No idea that was going on with the restricted units.

Except it is both, lol. Unfortunately, that filter is "working as-built" (i.e. broken), so you can at least take comfort in knowing that your game isn't borked. It seems likely that the (R)Restricted tab was intended to show only units that were attached to a Restricted Command, but themselves could be changed to a different one. Except it adds in the ones that can't be changed, even though they have their own filter.
