Victory Conditions

Rule the Waves III is a simulation of naval ship design and construction, fleet management and naval warfare from 1890 to 1970. and will place you in the role of 'Grand Admiral' of a navy from the time when steam and iron dominated warship design up to the missile age.

Victory Conditions

Post by CaptBeefheart »

I just completed a campaign as the U.S. from 1900 to 1970. It was a lot of fun and the replayability is pretty much endless.

One thing that might make the game better would be some sort of victory assessment. I may have missed something, but I couldn't find the prestige levels of any of the other countries. It would be great to compare prestige levels as the game unfolds, and especially at the end. Or if it doesn't make sense for AI countries to have prestige levels because they don't make decisions like the human does, then maybe some sort of victory point system related to territory lost or gained, resource points, ships and aircraft lost and destroyed, tonnage built, tech level achieved, etc.

One other thing that could make this a classic would be a random start option. The map and/or the countries could be randomized depending on settings, meaning you could keep the start conditions for each country and have a completely new world (like Advanced Tactics Gold), randomize each country's starting conditions or both (or even allow new countries to be modded).

Cheers,

New countries can be modded - that's what the drop down list is for.

The victory condition is reaching the end - something that's easier with the US with a massive budget and navy, not so much with a small nation like Spain or China.
