Guns and lasers keep firing

I have 2 ships one with a laser and I told it to fire 2 times as the scenario runs. However it just keeps firing. I have to go into the manual firing again and de-allocate the weapon to get it to stop. this also occurs on the 203mm gun. This probably happens with other gun type weapons but these are the 2 I know about.
