OOB Incomplete

Post by Templer_12 »

V1.06.00
Scenario: Arracourt ver.1.41

OOB Incomplete
The 113 HQ is subordinate to 4 units on the map, while the OOB only shows 3 units!?
A regiment is missing in the OOB tree.

I see that maybe the two Panzergrenadier regiments are stacked in the OOB.
If so, how can I select each Panzergrenadier regiment individually with a click in the OOB and thus center it on the map?

I agree that this feature seems to be incomplete. This is too bad, since it would other be a great way to get a holistic view of your forces.

When units are stacked like that in the last tier of the hierarchy, there is no way to tell them apart. I think it's supposed to represent, e.g., multiple battalions in a regiment, but obviously they can get scattered all over the map like any other unit so it makes sense to view them separately in the OOB display -- especially since there is no "next unit" button, as you see in many other similar games.

Another related frustration is the "non-frontline units" checkbox. Flak batteries, for instance, are often attached to HQ and so are not "frontline" even though they are used that way sometimes (e.g., as AT units). The frustration is that the setting is never saved, so it has to be checked every time if you want to review the disposition of all your units.

It would also be nice if there was an OOB display of the enemy forces, which are apparently known since they are listed in the scenario description.

Panther belongs to the Panzer-Abteilung 2113, while Panzergrenadiers are from 2113. Panzergrenadier-Regiment.

They are not within the same regiment, hence different subordination.

Edit: Took a closer look. Brigade's Panzergrenadier-Regiment has two battalions, which are shown stacked in the OOB. Hence why you only see 3 while there are 4 on the map. Both panzergrenadier battalions belong to the same regiment.
