Unable to launch game and editor at the same time.

I would like to have the editor open on my second screen and use it to plan moves and keep track of enemy units, but unfortunately it cannot be done.

If I have the editor open running the SC3-WWII War in Europe.exe does not open the game and neither does hitting play on the autorun window.

If I have the game running and try to run Editor-WWII War in Europe.exe I get an error "Could not initialize STEAM manager or invalid serial key"


It seems like there is some kind of DRM or anti piracy measure stopping both from begin open at the same time.

It looks like the game and editor run under the same process on Steam, so attached to the same key, and as a result locking out one from the other when trying to run both at the same time.

So indeed part of the Steam DRM system, unfortunately.

I'm guessing this behavior is not about to change?

An other way of allowing players to get a map to draw on, would be adding "Export full map screenshots" button to the game, like the one there is in the editor. Would be even better if the export button would automatically stitch the screenshots into one image.

Good suggestions and in the meantime it might be worth contacting Matrix Support directly to see if it can indeed be changed for Steam versions of the game.
