Suggestion for Mining Rights-Diplomacy

Post by Schatten »

In current form they not only usless---why in the world someone would allow other Empires build Mining Bases in their Space? You lost profit for yourself and if war happens you need to destroy them all--- but also annoyance as you get neverending spam of diplomatic messages to sing this treaty.

Change it so that it allows only mining ships to mine in other Empires space, no bases allowed or remove it completly, its total pointless and produces only message spams.

With a mining treaty, the other empire can mine in your territory, but you can also mine in theirs. If you have more advanced exploration techs than they do, and have construction ships with enough range, you might be able to mine resources from their territory that you don't have in yours, before they're able to, or even before they even know they have those resources in their territory.

So I wouldn't want those treaties to be abolished.

But I like your idea of a treaty that would only allow mining ships to mine in the other territory. I think the ideal would be to keep the current treaties, but add a new one, only allowing mining ships.

Its ok to keep it with only mining ships. however than we need a option where you can permanently shut the advisor off (own and theirs---mayby with autoreject option) for this Treaty so you still dont go spammed with mining treaties offers from your and their advisors

For sure message spam is still a problem in DW2. It's not as bad as it was in DW:U, but let's just say that it's not perfect. The April roadmap mentioned some planned improvements (https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 64b5c0175d) which will certainly help with the spamming.
