What!?!?!
That’s a first!!! (another one): as I was watching my manual fleet Strike Force BG1 attacking an enemy ship, it suddenly, very suddenly, decided to leave to go refuel! While it was wining the fight and had plenty of fuel!!!
In the screenshot below, you can see where the combat was, and you can see some of my fleet’s torpedoes still active. That's how suddenly they decided to leave!
If the fleet would have been low on fuel, that would be one thing. But it has plenty of fuel! And cheery on top: it has a tanker with plenty of fuel in its cargo.
In the screenshot below, you can see that Strike Force BG1 is a manual fleet. You can also see its fuel situation (selection panel and fuel range), as well as where it's going to refuel.
I thought that maybe a new trait was added to the game in this beta: “Insanely obsessed with fuel”. But no, I talked with the fleet’s admiral, and he seems completely normal!
But seriously, this is badly broken!!!
EDIT:
I've loaded an autosave done not too long before the save I've attached to the report. And I then tried to reproduce the problem. In my first try, the enemy ship was destroyed, and my fleet didn't go for refuel. In other words, I wasn't able to reproduce the problem. I'm going to try again a few times and let you know how it goes.
EDIT 2
I've tried a few times now (maybe 5 times), and haven't been able to reproduce the problem yet. Most of the times, I get pretty much the exact same results, but in my last try there were some slight differences. For instance, the enemy ship initiated a jump as soon as my fleet was near (which is what you'd normally expect), while in the previous tries, it was staying there and reacted only when my fleet's torpedoes reached it. Don't know what to think of all this. Maybe I'll try later to see if I can reproduce the problem. Also, I've note the steps I had done from the point the autosave was done to the point where my fleet went nut. I'll post those steps later, with the autosave.
