--Big gains in Caucasus. Hitler puts a bounty on those pair of experienced Red (Armor-Trains)
--Moscow/Leningrad is a grind. Need a pop, Russia gotta be tired.
--Naval activity continues around Scando-Norway-Atlantic. Both sides losing ships
--Sweden is invaded by Patton, nothing will stop them, maybe supply
--Algeria survives a turn. Getting bombed from Tunisa.
--Uboats sink USN (Cruiser) outside Algiers, I'll take it

Pacific

--Kiss Hawaii good-bye, he landed in force, no supply, no ports.
--We have neighboring port. Sank some Royal Navy (Battleship), don't think there's carriers, only support ones.
--India is a slow, but positive grind.

July 1943

--Western Allies land in an unorganized panic, but do have Hague, Netherlands with some units
--Western Allies on other side of Brussels have low supply, and a major problem, we shall smash them
--American Carriers and multiple (Maritime Bombers) destroying Uboats and Swedish ships
--German Uboat went raid Atlantic, he did not return, PT-Boats.
--Both sides slamming ships into each other. Subs, PT-Boats, name it.
--Axis have obtained some gains, in Southern Russia. Oil wells to be captured.
--Deadly Russian (Armor-Trains) have been cornered and in the act of being destoryed
--Moscow, is being worked down slowly, gonna take more time, but Southern units operand to help fill death
--Leningrad is being battered directly, costing the Reds daily MMPs and mentality wearing them out

--Turkey stalemate, no action
--Sweden's Capital being attack by Air and US Armor with lower supply.
--Algiers will fall due to supply, but Allies have supply and naval issue in MedFront

--Calcutta now has a Japanese landing force coming up the Southern coast, this will present him problems
--British (Cruiser) spotting off Tarawa, and sunk by Jap (Maritime Bombers)
--Another US (Escort Carrier) sunk off Hawaii. My opponent loves them units, I've sunk 4 of them

Allies surrender September 1943

The United Kingdom's strategy was aggressive, but failed. The BEF bailed outta France 1940, the moment the Germans attacked. This saved British soldiers, but certainly didn't help the French. Churchill mistake of only a garrison in London, and no RAF on patrol, made it easy to prepped a 2-turn landing + paratroops capture. Coudn't turn SeaLion down.

In the Pacific, I was baffled, by the soft defense. Had no plans to invade Hawaii. Originally, smashed the Battleships on Pearly Harbor Day, snagged a port, then left. But the Yanks sent the Carriers and left the Island weak, so Japs took it. Pacific became a personal Tojo swimming pool. Even more baffling, Australia was empty. Okay, I'll take it.

British diplomacy into Finland, really ticked me off. Had to spend 250MMP + 150MMP + 150MMP to get it back. So annoying. The Finns had gone negative. Once Barby and they joined, I decided to retaliate and bribe Turkey, which was already at 65%. Got 1-big hit, and Allies didn't bother to spend money, so Turkey was really great. The MMPs from Turkey was quite the help. I could buy a (Corp) per turn extra, felt like, to throw into major battles.

The Russians caused me alot of trouble. I was on the ropes in many, many of those nasty counter-punch attacks. My opponent really love suicide (Anti-Tank) guns which had +2 tech. These were killer units on Panzers. Reds also countered, alot with Tanks + Armies. The Dnieper line was a tough take, took 1942. 1943 was were the results and grind started to wear Russia. Germans got the 1st good turn of weather, and was able to establish momentum. My initial invested in Finland with HQ/Panzer/Army/Artillery was stupid, but over time, I took the Panzer out, and let the growth experience pound Leningrad. The daily turn of MMPs drains, hurt Russia.

The Naval battles went well. Seems, that when I do good with Naval, I win. Kreigsmarine + Italians were able to win battles and protect soft positions. British Carriers dind't coorinate that well. Yankees have so many Carriers, maybe too many? Anyhow, quite pleased with Naval performance.

Good game, fast turnaround on turns. Wanna say we've played 5 times. I won game 1, 2, and 5. Archmache is very, very agressive. He attacks in areas I would never think of. He loves the Finland exploits (regardless of side). He also loves Carriers, so many (Escort Carriers), must have built them all. Anyhow, in game 5, I believe his abandonment of Pacific locations really hurt him. American morale was garbage, thus battles gave me no fear. Will play him again, either side.

Damn that looked like a great match. The AARs from both of you were entertaining and good too. Congrats...it looked early on like Archmache had you. The Finland Gambit(s) maybe the worm that turned it around. 😎

Yes, was great match. This is why I keep playing this game.
The Axis were broke & stretched, early in the game.
  • Spent MMPs 1940 (and units) committed to SeaLion. Despite the British soft defense, Allies really didn't lose much. Having to leave German HQ plus ground units, really weakens Barby.
  • Spent maximum MMPs to hold onto Finland. Germans 250, Italy 150, Japan 150. Figured the Allies felt confident once the the Finns went negative.
  • Once Finland was saved, noticed how high Turkey was, spent MMPs to convert them, need growth MMPs + units
  • Germans spent lots of MMPs on naval reinforcement. This typically a losing formula, but it caused problems for the USN/RN in/around England and Gibraltar. Got great payback at sea, since the shores were very weak.
  • Did send half of Afrika Corp to Libya (Rommel, Panzer, couple Corp, couple fighters), it's a drain on MMPs
  • Russians punched me in the face, alot in Barby. I thought all was lost in 1942.
  • What really helped me, was counter-punch, the Russians weren't entrenched, then Panzer x4 showed up, the edge.
  • Since the Yanks left the Pacific, made them so strong in West. Instead of Scando/France 1943 landings, he could have hit softer points like Greece, Italy, Turkey to cause Germans more problems. Italy did well, sacrificed plenty of units in Russia and filled gaps.
  • In longer run, those Turkisk cities turning to MMPs + having those units, was great. Oh, forgot to give Yugoslavia their propers for joining the Axis.
