Disappearing carrier division

Using the 1.00.24 public beta, I got a carrier battle without the error. When I went to the setup battle screen, my "main force" consisted of only destroyers and a carrier division, so I moved all those ships over to divisions in the "carrier force". When I opened up the battle, I found a bunch of my destroyers scattered around an area far from my single carrier division, with the other division that was supposed to exist nowhere in sight. Their planes are still accessible from the screen where you ready and dispatch strikes but they are not on the map or in the scenario OB. Stealth carriers, anyone?

And annoyingly, once again I forgot to push save for several turns in a row and now have lost several hours of play. I'd really love it if you would put a proper autosave feature into this game so that you can set it up (or by default) it saves the position as soon as you press end turn.
