Two Worlds Collide, yet again.
Rivalry match of players that won't submit to cookie cutter strategy.
My opponent thought he suckered me into invading United Kingdom, spend my MMPs last game in the West, not Russia.
Cost him England, Australia and ultimately the game.
Thing is, I was fortunate.
Can the Eagle Land Again?

Game #8, I'm down 3-4.

Open moves
1) Bye-bye Poland. I refuse to do anything different. Warsaw sacked.
2) Nothing cute, in China. Just power time. Tired of trying to be perfect, lets crack skulls.
3) Archmache suddenly thinks he's a power puncher, cost him Strasburg on the 2nd turn, counter, to the counter.

November 1939

Germans lose a Corp, West of the M-Line on the French turn.
We make the blue units, pay, 3 dead French Armies on my turn, November 1939.
Panzers are leading the charge, due to mobility.
Exposed, but should be safe, either weather or weak counter-attack, if any.

Japanese lose an Army, the Chinese are going psycho.
Pressure right back, despite rain, Chinese Army is smashed in the fortress.
Moving forward.

December 1939

--German (Panzer) destroys French (Corp) in Dijon w/ ease, adds mustard to the pretzels.
--French countryside is opened up in December 1939, via the M-Line.
--Yanks sit at 24%, don't think they'll send any MMPs at that level

--Chinese keep punching themselves out, in Central (Chengchow) area, we pay MMPs to reinforce
--In the South, the Chinese are broke
--Nanning surrounded, Changsta, Kwelin, Hengyang all captured faster than expected
--Could the Japanese get the building of the Great Wall before completed, time will tell

Feb 1940

Diplomacy gone wild.
Archmache loves that Finland diplomacy bribe, he's had 3 hits, I believe, Finland is a sellout.
Axis have their own Diplo, 2 hits on DEI

Axis decide roll more dice, lets take Lithuania by double-cross treaty, take the political backlash, who cares. Not me.

France, the offensive going easy. From M-Line to Paris.
British not doing much, but sending Foreign Aid.
Germans could take Paris, next turn, need good weather.
France is neutralized and battered.

China is getting more pressure, after their 1st round offensive.

--Paris is taken
--China gets punched again
--Diplo is getting CRAZY. DEI loves money. Finland loves money. Wow!

Been discussion about modification, but nope, part of ELO games.

This game is sick, on Diplo.
Never thought it would come to this.
I can kiss Finland goodbye.
Previous game, Archmache did the bribe Finns, I had to pour tons of MMPs to swing it back.
German 250, Italy 150, Japan 150, plus replacement MMPs
Cannot remember, wanna say I did Turkey after that.....regardless.

Once I saw big hit on Finland, decided to let it go.
Gamble, gamble.
Been pouring maximum into DEI.
Got a big hit before Italy even got involved.
It's expensive. But looking good. Doubt Allies will chase for the block.

--All is Quiet on the Western Front
--Germans have Lithuania, Denmark
--Norway, Belgium, Netherlands are neutral
--Limited naval activity around Cape of Good Hope
--Finland has been bribed, will join Allies at some point, bummer. But I got DEI

--Japanese are getting bloodied, taking lots of damage on the ground
--In exchange, the Chinese are dying in numbers.
--Lots of Shem death
--Expensive offensives continue in South & Central
--DEI has joined the Rising Sun, gonna need the help.

Chinese suicide infantry attacks have worn out.
Yet to see Chinese upgrades
Caused me damage.
Japanese still at Infantry +1
Fix bayonets, siege of the Chungking, Emperor wants the capital

--Barby Time
--Latvia demolished, along with Russia scrubs
--Kreigsmarine, sink Russia (Cruiser), cut off Finnish ports, will need to get that Sub/Battleship
--Central, yes, demolished Russia scrubs
--South, yep, smash and forward
--Yugoslavia was taken in May 1941
--North Africa was evacuated
--Still neutral Low Countries, Norway, Estonia

--China is paying the ultimate price for their kamikaze attacks. Hunting down HQs and remnant armies

August 1941

Army Group South: Massive assault at Kiev, and across Dneipper. Blitzkrieg hits first w/ Artillery, Infantry, Medium/Tactical Bombers, Panzers. Soft units East of the River destroyed. Looks like 5 Panzers now have room to work.

Fortress Smolensk: Crazy # of Fortresses. We'll take the high road, soften it with Artillery, Armored Train, Panzer, Infantry, minor city captured. Pressure on Veli-Luki. The line comes up more cautiously, I'm sure there's plenty of punching power waiting to rotate the walls.

British have infested Finland with x3 Maritime Bombers, the Kreigsmarine sail away. Ground troops take the last minor land Territory.

The Chinese, do I need to mention anymore. Have been dealt with.

The bummer, was the rain on the October 1941 turn, that's a big deal

Sleeping Giant awakes, after losing all ships in Hawaii.
Guam captureed, sub nearly destroyed.
Midway captured, sub nearly destroyed.
Vietnam
Singapore
Phillipines will fall
Burma will fail
All the New Guinea, Brunei, etc.
(everything but Hong Kong at this point)
Russia invaded
DEI has been Japanese by politics for awhile

Still cold in Russia
Smolensk will fall once the snow lifes
Need weather to advance on Rostov
Low Countries still neutral why USA late
Norway was lost to Allies
Finland has been Allies for awhile

May 1942

In Russia, the Winter finally stops.
--Reds get the first clear weather and smack several units West of Rostov
--Nazis pullback, regroup, not enough punching power to counter, yet.
--Heavy Artillery is working over the Russian Corps just East of Dnieper. Long squeeze hopefully happens.
--Smolensk captured, but the drive to Moscow is clumsy

In Scandovia
--Allies have Maritime Bombers everywhere, Finland
--Allies are not good guys, they invade Sweden, and pressure Stockholm
--Allies destroy Ireland, this guy is mad!
--Allies drive from Tunisia to Algeria. Italians send Corp to the capital, to cause problems

Kreigsmarine is conservative in Europe, but many are Indian Ocean that escaped raiding Iraq, and refuel at secret base

--China back to their last Alamo, Japanese are angry, gonna go for the wipeout.
--Russian cities near Manchuria, taken, lets see if we can turn the corner on the Lake
--Japanese invade India, lets stress the Allies here.

Madness, all presurre on the Nazis
1) Allies own Scando, Ireland and now take Portugal.
2) Spaniards join Hitler and Mussolini. Hodgepodge of units battle Allied Units on multiple Atlantic ports.
3) Russian front in nothing but snow, as we enter 1943

Pacific
1) Japanese control Midway and bombing runs hit Pearl Harbor
2) Only lost Tarawa Islands section
3) DEI is the safest place on the Globe, Fortress Utopia
4) Chinese down to their last Alamo, capital. Don't know why I bother to go for the complete kill.
5) Russia soil, probably stopped, to far to head West
6) India getting positioned to take some real damage.

With all the diplomacy and the triple team in Europe, Germany surrenders.
With the ports in Portugal open, it's over.
