Yep it is sad, people eventually loose interest.

There's a video floating around with multiple intercepts of incoming missiles having the characteristic "snap" of pantsyr missiles detonating in the air, but a single missile manages to make it through and impact the building. Shows how important better low altitude coverage is so you have enough time to detect/intercept all the missiles and enough radars so when others shut down for repairs more can be brought up to cover the gap.

AFU claims three dozen officers dead.
RUMil claims one guy missing.

I imagine the truth is somewhere in the middle, in the past Ukraine has killed over a dozen generals that months later showed up alive in some random press release video and "sunk" ships that later returned to port undamaged. Both sides frequently lie claiming all missiles were intercepted unless it is a very public location.

Footage of the immediate area has no signs of the parked luxury vehicles, panicked underlings and large rescue operation one would expect for "three dozen" officers buried under rubble like with the AFU officer meeting in the pizzeria.
After the drydock strike and destruction of the LST I can't imagine they'd be stupid enough to have such a big meeting on the surface in broad daylight with just one Pantsyr-S2 to cover it, there are many soviet era command bunkers in the area and likely more still as they've been turtling since 2014. No matter the stupidity of individual officers all it takes is one guy to say it is a bad idea.

What is an "administrative headquarters"? is it like bookkeeping? or deciding what missiles to launch?

At least 2 missiles impacted, the one in the air and another that had already caused the visible damage in the HQs.

Admiral Sokolov, the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, is claimed to be one of the casualties, but who knows.

As I suspected he's still alive - here's a video of the "dead" admiral at a random press conference.

Even if they had moved out operations months ago it is still a very big deal that Ukraine was able to pull this off.

Yes, 2 videos have appeared, the problem is that we do not know when they were recorded, no proof of life IMO.

Anyway is just a matter of propaganda and prestige, dead or alive nothing changes, there must be is a bunch of old navy officers waiting to replace him for one reason or another.

(From my GitHub bug report, they can't do this in-game because all SHORAD is listed as SARH not command guided)
Here are a few leaked videos of successful Storm Shadow/GMRLS interceptions and an analysis article on them including estimated intercept ranges.

https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/ana ... terception
(he is by far the most skilled, well informed war commentator and he is relatively neutral)
It explains what actually happened in the infamous "failed intercept" video, turns out the crew attempted a missile engagement within the min arming distance instead of using the guns. Youtubers cut out the second part of the video showing a more skilled crew calmly engaging an incoming SS at 15km to help the anti-pantsyr propaganda narrative. Viewing the EO view frame by frame it does appear the second missile caught up with it and intercepted since the explosion seems to happen in mid-air (you can see the bottom of it)

Note what appears to be an advanced NCTR ability shown via the little missile icons, this explains their obsession with capturing intact objects and "scanning" them and the subsequent reduction in GMRLS successes as the systems can now more easily distinguish them from other less accurate MRLS fired as decoys.
It isn't JEM because GMRLS doesn't have blades.

Pantsyr-S2 vs GMRLS - Exterior:

Looks like two or three in both videos, you couldn't get this level of performance with just one vehicle.

Pantsyr-S2 vs Storm Shadow - Crew Cab:
Detect at 15km, launch at 8.5km (depends on conditions/radar settings and radar horizon)

It could be determined by cross referencing civilian photos of the sports award ceremony on social media.

Yeah the few actual commander deaths don't have the impact that people think they do, the Russian military is very "brass heavy" and thus there are likely lots of younger less corrupt and more qualified guys to fill their places. It also provides a morale boost to the troops because they see the officers are leading (and dying) from the front instead of hiding in their bunkers.

Fortunately or unfortunately the topics for CMO scenarios will never end.

DDG-64 has reportedly shot down 2-3 Houthi projectiles fired from Yemen, with SM-2s. The reports suggest that the ship wasn't the target. The Reuters article suggests that drones may have been involved too.

Naval forces that are being concentrated in Eastern Mediterranean and Read Sea, pic by Intelchizo.

Perhaps useful for scenario modders. But what would be the opponent, massive attack by Iranian drones and proxies?

it would have to be a scenario somewhere else, with the absence of these assets, because they're tied-up here!

Ships from the Gerald R. Ford and Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Groups (CSG), U.S. Sixth Fleet command ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20), and Italian Navy frigates Carlo Margottini (F 592) and Virginio Fasan (F 591) sail in formation in the Mediterranean Sea, Nov. 3, 2023.

Interesting link posted by Dimitris in steam forum, though not all the naval assets are present.

And to add more complexity, the aircrafts may also shoot down missiles.

The final destination of the second carrier was the Persian gulf?

This is from TASS, RUS MOD, take it with a grain of salt .

https://tass.com/politics/1702489?utm_s ... efront.com

The another source mentioned in the article is probably from bulgarianmilitary.com
https://bulgarianmilitary.com/2023/11/0 ... 29-russia/

It indicates the teamwork between A-50 and S-400 has good CEC capability. Or at least S-400 fire the new type of missile as a ballistic missile mode with data provided by A-50, then missile turn on its active radar at the terminal phase.

But we all know when you add "max distance" and "low altitude" together, you should not expect a high chance of success hit.

You have to be careful with mixing up true CEC-like capability with data sharing. CEC-like implies complete integration of tracking and radar picture (fused?) between units. Data sharing means that data can be sent to another unit to update tracking information and then switch the fire control to the other unit in sequenced fashion.

Data sharing has been around for 50 years and was the basis for GCI in the Soviet era. An example is a USAF sharing target data with an F-16 and the F-16 continues its data link with the missile, but with data updated from the E-3. CEC means the data link gets turned over completely to the E-2 and an F/A-18 can cut its link.

What I don't gather from that article is if the A-50 was just feeding updated tracking data or was it actually in a real-time link to the missile. I might be creating a false difference, but that is my understanding. From what I can tell, the only news here is that they used an A-50 with a new missile to extend the radar tracking range with a missile that already had a long active radar range. It seems a step forward, but not on the same level as CEC.

Of course, I have created this view entirely from my playing CMO and the research I have done around it. So take it for what its worth.

And an Air Force MQ-9A “Reaper” Surveillance Drone was Downed by the Houthis earlier today, while it was in International Airspace over the Red Sea off the Coast of Yemen.

And more food for a hypothetical scenario.

Eisenhower CSG passed in front of the Houthis stronghold without trouble and crossed Bab el-Mandeb Strait, destination the Persian Gulf.
