[FIXED B1328.12][1328.11] Game crashing right after launch

After the game updated in Steam to 1328.11, the game no longer launches since it crashes immediately. I was able to play the game (1328.10a) 1-2 hours before updating it. Screenshots are attached for reference.

I got to talk to Dimitris in Discord and he advised me to verify the files and even reinstall the game. Unfortunately that still does not work.

I found out upon further testing ,the legacy 32-bit version of the game (1307.19) in Steam works normally.

Update:

I decided to restart my computer once more so that I could restart the Vanguard anticheat since it was on the of the applications I closed to diagnose any incompatibilities with CMO. Now, I'm able to launch the game fine with the new update installed (along with Vanguard, RTSS, Shadowplay, Afterburner running again in the background plus some other applications that might conflict with CMO [which never actually conflicted in my computer yet]).

There's also another user who had a similar issue as mine and their fix was also a reinstallation of the game and restart of the computer.

I have to say, this was just a weird issue to have. It never happened to me before nor required me to reinstall the game and restart my computer as well to resolve an issue in CMO. I hope you guys still look into this so that it will not happen anymore in the future.

Update:

The issue happened to me again after shutting down my computer last night and then trying to launch CMO after boot up. Also oddly enough, I had to reinstall CMO twice to make it work again? But now the game won't launch after restarting my computer after finding out CMO works again. Looking at the event logs, the same error messages appear as my screenshots in the first post.

What I have done so far today:

Works now!

I've also seen a third player now who's having this similar issue. Is it possible to get update 1328.10a again for the moment? It's the latest patch that works fine on my computer.

I suspect that when you reboot your PC, something else also starts again which interferes with Command.

What programs do you have auto-starting? (You can get a handy list of them in Task Manager --> "Startup Apps")

Anti-cheats? Screen recorders? GPU "helpers"? (e.g. MSI Afterburner)

After multiple attempts of reinstalling (even choosing a different drive), restarting and closing different background applications, none of those worked. But when I decided to make Steam run in offline mode, CMO launched! And that was just seconds after finding out CMO failed to launch upon fresh restart of my computer. I enabled online mode again in Steam and the game still launched fine. I even restart my computer once more and CMO is still working (without having to make Steam go in offline mode first).

I've only done hibernations for the past few days to help 'preserve' CMO's working state and it was fine. But when I restarted the computer earlier, the issue returned again. The trick of putting Steam in offline mode did not seem to work this time.

I've attached the exception logs, though it seems it only shows the times when CMO launched normally.

Honestly could I just get 1328.10a again for the mean time? It's quite tiresome to find seemingly random fixes for this issue.

The log should provide more info if you check the "log debug information to file (only for debugging)" box in the general options.

Also: Are you using multiple GPUs? (e.g. integrated GPU on CPU plus discrete GPU). If yes, can you force the discrete GPU to run Command?

No such file is found. Closest thing is WriteableBitmapEx.Wpf.dll

My monitor is connected to the GPU and it says RTX 3070 on the top when I play it.

This is exceptionally difficult for us to troubleshoot, because we have not been able to reproduce it here at all.

Is anyone else experiencing the same error? If yes, do you have any additional insight?

I have the same /or very similar behaviour and event log entries: it doesn't start with quick-launch link, but with game menu the game starts (since 1328.11).
So try to start with game menu....

So perhaps the Steam client is doing a really poor job of correctly transferring the entire fileset?
