Deplyoment in Comander & Forces or Battle Planning?

Post by dpabrams »

It seems that I have to deploy units twice once in the commander and forces and once in the battle planning menus. It seems to be duplicitous. Am I missing something here?

You need both. The default (Command) deployment is what a player will see when playing the scenario and each battle plan has its own setup for starting locations for the AI to use. You can use the default to just drop units on the map for the player to move in larger setup zones or you can place units in a more deliberate manner and reduce the setup zone for each unit in the force package. I would strongly suggest watching the YouTube series on scenario and BP design that Charles did to get some of the ins and outs of scenario design.

Made it through 4 of those videos and yep, he explained it and I missed it. You have one hell of a system here.

It is a good system, and we have plans to expand on it as well. Docs would be great, and I am hoping to get back to those over the holidays coming up. We have been very busy on many fronts, and my time for Docs is not what it needs to be at the moment.
