RE: Suggestion wish list
I would suggest 2 things.
1)A new movement mode is needed I think.
"Cautious Movement"
-Costs more AP
-Costs more readiness
-Terrain & weather hide bonus gets another multiply bonus to hide.
It should represent units that have smokes (mortars or infantry) or moving very carefully.
2) Flare combat card!
Would be very useful for night offensive or art barrage.
Of course, it would have different values for terrain & weather

I think One could lead to some cheating in PBEM...
What I am thinking is an automatic removal of Fog of War at end of game...and hopefully coded such that a player can not access mid-game.

RE: Suggestion wish list
I would like to recommend for Grand Campaign on German side the Victory conditions at 300 points what is also good for the H vs H play mode. On the other hand from my point of view if Germans have not reached Meuse river that is always defeat of Germans even they have collected VP for strategical victory. I finished the game on Hard difficulty and slow AI with score over 400 points. I have reach Meuse at many places and captured Dinat and Liege. I do not how it goes at very hard or impossible conditions but I will try.

RE: Suggestion wish list
I've been playing the campaign and now that the patch 1.01.02 is installed, I see no use for the sicherung units that don't activate till Jan.7 since the scenario ends Dec.31.
What's the use having them on the map, historical clutter?

The use for those rear units is to disband them to get their troops to frontline units or to form battle groups from those troops (after disbanding them).James Taylor wrote: Tue Feb 08, 2022 3:21 am I've been playing the campaign and now that the patch 1.01.02 is installed, I see no use for the sicherung units that don't activate till Jan.7 since the scenario ends Dec.31.

But I would like to see function of reforming those regiments into something useful (even feld ersatz units), pay PP for that and use them instead of disbanding.

There is no such thing as a historically accurate strategy game. Every game stops being historically accurate from the very first move player do. First unit that moves ahistorically, first battle with non-historical results, mean we ride in unknown.

Re: Suggestion wish list
- shortcut to activate hex contour
- shortcut to (de)activate "Stack and mini" tab
- a recap of options chosen by player 1 who created the PBEM game mode (like Uncertainty mode on/off, weather rand/histo/bad)
- a map layer for recon values (I assume it's distinct from LOS values)
- A next unit (with AP) short cut.
- To have remaining AP visible on counters at mid-zoom

Re: Suggestion wish list
Please consider adjusting replacements in scenarios tables that come by power points. If they are not free - there should be a chance for something meaningful / useful. I mean some artillery pieces and AA guns (for Luftwaffe flak abt) for Germans. Also Brits could get some troops in later turns.
Also I would like to see more chances than one big one (I know it's a lot of writing):
tank - chance for 1 unit
tank - chance for 1 unit
tank - chance for 1 unit
tank - chance for 1 unit
than
tank - chance for 4 unit (one line of code)

Normal infantry instead rear guard troops in sturm artillerie units (or panzer / armored ones).

Re: Suggestion wish list
American airborne regiment with 75mm howitzers as field guns (reinforcement type). No more replacement 105mm artillery in airborne regiments. By the way: Americans have heavy 155mm artillery set as heavy artillery, wow!

Suggestion is to allow "KILL" result actually when attacker is an advantage not when he scored 10% out of 100%.

Re: Suggestion wish list
I suggest that when the attack-to-defense difference is almost 50 times in favor of defense, there would be no KILL score.

Re: Suggestion wish list
Arise thread. Starting playing this again, and one thing i think it could use is expanding the history replay window on the screen bottom. The flak info is really very small, the whole history operation in the lower screen could be made larger. There is a lot of empty space to the left/right of the history window when going through the history.

Re: Suggestion wish list
great game..
Can I suggest some addl features like:
1. Hot key to show ELEV's (0,1,2,3),
2. Hot key to show what units used APs during current turn,
3. show combat losses for prior turn separate from Totals list in report,
4. hot key to turn off/on mini map.
5. give more info about cards (i.e. unit types) when we mouse over them
cheers.

Re: Suggestion wish list
Without reading this entire post & risking a repeat suggestion...I will.
Would love to see an option in the editor to create other season/terrain scenarios, such as summer/desert, etc.
Also, a 'random map generator' would be amazing ( though I know unlikely/never
)...imho.

Re: Suggestion wish list
We made a little step in this direction with the 1.06 update the weather library is now "all seasons ".
I think that other new features of DC5 could be added to DC4 Ardennes.
Changelist for v1.06
-Updated Weather Library version to v11. (not yet used in any scenario, but now available for future usage) You can now enableFullTemperatureSpread which enables the new algorithm to determine random temperatures. This new algorithm will pick semi-correct values for all months of the year, also summer. Also added TemperatureOffset and RainOffset that allow you to offset the random temperature values and random weather changes.

Re: Suggestion wish list
The current game is already great. We all hope it will become even greater.
I'd like to have a better organized OOB and HQ Command structure.
As I’m still relatively new to the game. If I missed something that already in the current build, could someone point it out for me please?
Currently there are only 4 levels of HQ. "Lowest HQ, medium HQ, high HQ and Supreme HQ". So unit(s) considered as "High HQ" "and supreme HQ", i.e., Army, Army groups HQ's, including some of US/Br Corps HQ's, are all displayed on the 1st row on OOB window. as the OOB window only allowing for 4 rows, it makes the OOB looking strange.
I couldn’t find a way to attach the "high HQ" level Corps to "high HQ" Army that would reflect on the OOB display. (Am I missing something here?}
There is no room for regiment / brigade /KG/BG level of HQ. So all the KG and BG are directly under Corps/Korps level of command, or, if making BG under the division, than the division HQ is set as "medium HQ", which will force the Corps HQ as "high HQ", which in turn will be displayed at the same level as Army/Army Group.
I would hope the ability to fully reflect the army organization structure from Army Group down to Regiment/Brigade, and display in the OOB.
This may lead to some issue with concentric bonus, which may need a new organization integrity rating system of units belong to different HQ's, e.g., units from same division but different Regiment has different penalty then units from different division/Corps. Some of the Corps level units like Artillery AA/AT/TD units may have less penalty as they are designed to be able to move around within the organization.
