Request: Game editor ability to add “already built” starcrafts to ships

Post by 100thMonkey »

I'd like to be able to specify, from the game editor, how many interceptors and bombers are already built for a given ship (obviously, only for ships/designs that have starfighter bay(s)). So that once returned to the game, the ships added with the editor are ready to use their fighters and bombers.

Currently, added ships have 0 built starcraft. Which makes it difficult to create test scenarios involving designs with fighters and bombers. For instance, to test how a fleet of mini-carriers of a specific design would fare against a fleet equipped with a certain type of area weapons.

The ability to specify how many fighters and bombers are built, independently for each starcraft type (for instance: 4 interceptors, 2 bombers) would be nice, but not essential IMHO. On the other hand, a button allowing to instantly build all the aircrafts the ship can build would be very useful.
