What game? You are in the War in the Pacific: Admiral Edition forum. There is NO massive November 2023 update for WiTP:AE.

rk, I think you are referring to the incomplete Beta 1127? See the thread in the stickied area of this page: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 3&t=389948

The download link is at the beginning of that thread, I think. Be warned that if you start a game now with the current state of the Beta there is no guarantee that you will be able to update that game when a newer version comes out. Some changes are simple database updates that will not affect game play and others are programming and map adjustments that might.

Thank you....you are correct....that is the blurb I saw...thought (foolishly) it was official. Too scared to try it but I hope another official update will occur to fix the San Francisco and Bombay supply issues and the need to use the Y or N key instead of a mouse click to disband a taskforce....among other needs.

You don't need to use the keyboard to disband any taskforce, just transfer all of the ships to another taskforce and/or put them into a port.

What! Sorry Joe that's not a sensible thing to do. If you want to disband a TF then disband it, not transfer them.

Unfortunately this is the case. There are other places in the game were you used to be able to use the mouse, NOW you are forced to use the keyboard all because some could not control were they were clicking. I hate it, bring make the mouse.

It works and if there is only one ship or just a few ships, it is just as fast. Especially if you are already moving ships around.

Ho hum - to each their own!
I hope the programmers can just enable mouse clicking on the Y or N for the disband button, but the reason the confirmation was requested is that the "Disband" button is right above the "Undock" button and mouse clicks lag a little behind the mouse movement - so you can click when the mouse is over the Undock button but the mouse is still moving and ends up on the disband button. Reforming the TF and buying back an admiral are a heckuva lot more inconvenient than pressing Y or N.

There's a lot of clicking in this game :)

The problem not that I have to use the k/b it's that I can't use the mouse which is what I'm used too. I missed the change, tried to disband something and thought A, battery gone in k/b, b. K/B broke c. game screwed, d. computer broke and finally e. %^&^ it.

It's on your "mypage". All you games with S/N and file downloads are there. Even link for that beta is there.

BTW, did they update AI files? AI is still dumb, I managed to break it again by intercepting DEI invasion convoy (grrrr).

I've seen no mention of it, so I'm assuming no. Besides, I don't think updating some scripts is gonna magically make the AI any less dumb.

You could ask in the update area.

You could also check both the size of the files and the dates on them.

The main reason I hope they reinstate the mouse click to disband is that I do not play on a laptop....therefore I have to constantly keep the keyboard on my lap since I disband many fleets each turn. And while we're discussing needed improvements the absolutely main one in my opinion is the automatic "upgrading" of a category of ship all at the same time....something that would never happen in the real world...we have to wait for weeks just to regain access, for example to our CVs, or APs....
