Patriot Battery CEC/IBCS Capability

Post by Fir3w411 »

I've gotten various SAMs to operate in conjunction with airborne assets such as E-2D by assigning both to have comm devices AN/USG-4 CEC to provide a data link. However, this does not work with Patriot batteries for some reason. I want to create an integrated air defense network similar to IBCS.

1). Is this method of assigning AN/USG-4 CEC even the correct way of going about this?

2). How can I get the Patriot battery to work this way?

Hi, can we please see a save that reproduces the problem? Thanks.

The Patriot and the E-7A both have AN/USG-4 comm devices attached to try and create CEC, and there is a cruise missile flying through valleys nearby.

This case is due to the PAC missiles have not datalink connection to CEC. It's a db issue so please request/report it in the github: https://github.com/PygmalionOfCyprus/cmo-db-requests

In weapons with CEC enable like the AIM-120D you will see a field in the properties named "Supports CEC"

In order for a unit to fire through the CEC link, it will need its weapons to be CEC compatible, but the unit itself does not need a CEC communications link.

For a unit to provide Fire Control Data to another unit for firing it will need a CEC communications link.

Hi

I believe that datalinks like AN/USG-4 and others have been added "recently" as a basis for the new communications model.

As they have already pointed out, the "Supports CEC" feature is necessary in both the datalink and the weapon, however as I mentioned here https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 0&t=397780, the CEC feature is not working correctly right now.
