Impulse #4 (Axis)

Only two attacks by Axis and both are in Ukraine.

First is against D-town. 47:9 or 5-1 +1.

Second is against 4th guard army, and is 32:9 before air, or a bit above 3:1 +2 (if it is blitz). One LND3 fly on extended range and will add 3 points in ground support making it 35:9.

Will USSR fly any defensive support? Germany has one 5-strength FTR2 that can reach both attacks.

Save sent.

Dnepropetrovsk captured. Both defenders destroyed. Although there is grumblings that all the attackers were disorganized, the relief felt that D-town was captured, with no margin at all (on the die), is far greater.

The sunset cast a warm, golden glow on Yamamoto's face as he slowly descended the stone steps leading from the ancient Shinto shrine. The sound of his footsteps echoed through the quiet gardens, and the scent of incense hung in the evening air that embraced the temple grounds. It was refreshing to be without the escort, if only for a few minutes. He idly toyed with the omikuji scroll.

Suddenly, the silence was broken by the sound of muffled steps approaching. A young adjutant emerged from the shadows of the silent trees and stood beaming before Yamamoto. "Commander," the adjutant said respectfully, kneeling in a quick gesture of submission. "Significant successes are reported from Burma, Malaya, the Philippines, and NEI. Our troops have overcome every obstacle and expanded the empire's positions."

Yamamoto nodded contentedly and thanked the adjutant, despite already knowing. The words confirmed that the campaigns were progressing as planned, and the empire's expansion continued on multiple fronts. He let the omikuji strip rest undisturbed in his hand and waited until the adjutant had returned to his duty. Only when the sounds of footsteps had faded did he open the omikuji, allowing his eyes to glide over the characters shaping his destiny.

"The empire has seen its borders grow to completion," he thought to himself as he crumpled the paper. Despite the positive report from the adjutant, he felt that the gods were speaking of something deeper, something that required not only conquests but also an understanding of the changing times.

As he leaned over the pond and released the crumpled omikuji into the water, he felt a certain relief. Concentric ripples spread across the surface as the paper floated away. Seemingly unaffected but not entirely satisfied within, Yamamoto continued down to the small pond. The sunset extended the shadows around him, and a sense of unease spread in his chest. The empire was entering a new phase. The dormant giant had awakened and would grow. Only through skillful strategy and the ability to adapt to changes could they face the new threat. Now it was time to return to headquarters. He looked around for his chauffeur and escort. It was time to draw up new plans...

For future reference: When a ship is overrun, and needs to rebase, I would prefer if it moves toward a port where we have at least some chance to reorganize it. Especially when it is a Vichy French ship. In this case Casablanca would have been best option in my humble opinion (Even if that move was likely to intercept and sink the ship). However, since I like that things move along fast I have no issue with that things does not always align perfectly how I would have done. It is good enough, and no need to change it. :)

German forces are expected to ender Sevastopol soon. Any preference for which port(s) the ships there should sail towards?
