Motorization Status of SUs versus Leader Combat Stat

Post by Wiedrock »

I've set up a test for figuring out how SUs perform regarting the Leader stats INF vs MOT.

Setup:
  • I've added 6xMOT Pioneers and 6xNON-MOT Pioneers to 4 Infantry Divisions inside 1 Corps.
  • I've attacked the same Hex in the Editor. Some of the later tests I have a Fort level 5.
  • The TOE for the MOT I always added a copied and renamed version "MOT Prefix" of the normal Ground Element to be able to differentiate.
  • Then I changed the Corps Leader to have 8 Infantry and 2 Mot/Mech Skills.
It always looked about like this (the "Value" should be 8.09...I guess).

I then changed all Leaders along the Chain of Command to have 8INF and 2Mot/Mech Skills.

I then added some other separate Ground Elements with a Prefix MOT to the existing Pioneer SUs to differentiate.

Further Testing:
I guess there are many more combinations to test, like:
  • Switching numbers 8-2 -> 2-8
  • Test if it gives same results without "direct assignment"
  • Test whether the assignment to a INFANTRY Division [which is NON-MOT] has an impact.
Conclusion:
Conclusions everyone has to draw themselves whether it's worthwile to care about MOT/NON-MOT status of SUs when assigning or not.
As said there are more tests to be done before I'd allow me to draw a serious conclusion.
Sadly my SSD died so I'd need to recreate the setup first before being able to do this. Maybe one day.
