The Isthmus of Perekop issue

Post by Taifun »

The Isthmus of Perekop, literally Isthmus of the Trench, is the narrow, 5–7 kilometers wide strip of land that connects the Crimean Peninsula to the mainland of Ukraine. I don't know if changing a Geographical anomaly in this game is possible. As shown in this capture, in this game is possible to cross from Kherson into the Crimea peninsula bypassing the Perekop isthmus. I think that this movement shouldn't be allowed...

Yep, experienced this firsthand.
Sneaky Russians, can go right around, from the Fortress, then send/ship the Fortress. Bye-bye Supply, *key city, etc. These failures wreck a front.

Yeah, that little tongue of land connecting the two hex sprites is sufficient to allow such movement-both can be easily swapped out in the editor. Note in some maps with smaller more detailed scales you can have up to 3 routes into the Crimea there. Easily dealt with by putting a second-line unit there.
