Expired Security Certificates.

Post by sfbaytf »

I've been getting warnings about expired security certificates on this site, I know from past work experience that keeping them up to date can be a chore/headache, but really should be kept up to date.

Don't know if this is related, but for some reason my VPN and this site has issues. I used to be able to use my vpn without any issues, but recently I've had a lot of issues.

To be fair I've had issues with other sites and VPN recently. I've seen posts to the effect that many sites deliberately configure their sites to have issues so users will stop using VPNs so they can collect data to analyze and sell as you the user are the product and the cash cow.

There's a reason why many sites require you to check consents that are pages long and written in legalize that only a lawyer would understand...

I'm not accusing Matrix of any wrongdoing.

That being said given the nature of the product the type of persons that would be interested in it and the current state of the world, security, privacy and trust should be paramount.

From what I can see, Matrix's certificate isn't set to expire until April.
