Most PBEM games are in red and not joinable? Europe & WAW

Hi everyone,

I picked up Strategic command on GoG both Europe and WaW. I'm not ready to jump into PBEM but wanted to see what was available. 9/10 of the games shown were in red and when I mouse over one of those games the tool-tip states "This campaign has been modified or not installed on your system." Pretty self explanatory, and while I'm sure some of these games are using mods, I noticed most of these are ones that I have installed as they came with the game.

For example more than a few games were "1939 World at War" in red and un-joinable a few times on the list, but there was also an identical one "1939 World at War" that was white and able to joined.

It almost seems like the majority of the online community is using some type of mod? Some games are listed with the "TRP" suffix which I know is a mod, but are most players using a mod that I'm not aware?

How come most games are in red with a "Not installed tool-tip" even though they appear to be default campaigns/scenarios? Should I be downloading a certain mod that most people use if I want to partake in online games?

It almost seems that since the majority of the games are in red but many of those are unlocked and free to be joined by anyone, that I'm just missing some type of major mod that everyone uses.

The reason is likely that the challenges were issued before the latest patch was released, and so the originator will need to cancel and reissue their challenge(s) so that people can pick them up, because both parties need to have identical versions of the campaign on their system in order to be able to play.

Either that, or your versions have not been automatically updated, but I think the above is much more likely as the game should auto-update. You can always check as the version number is displayed at the bottom right of the Main Menu, and should not be v1.00.00!

I do have the latest version! I think you're spot on about what's happening. I took another look and if you mouse over a lot of them they say "(1.27.0)" at the end of the mouse-over tooltip. I'm on 1.28.00 so this is exactly why!

TRP Mod is a complete revamp of the game, it is literally a much more in depth and longer playing game with more than twice the turns.

My signatured has the link to the mod if you want to install it and play with others. Their is a Discord channel as well that is in the main post of the TRP threads. I put Release Candidates in the Discord channel before I make them public. Also the channel is a good place to ask people for help.

Just as a follow up, we have about 150 people now in Discord (goes up almost daily). Good MP community and people providing feedback/experiences. At this time the current versions of TRP Europe and TRP World are pretty much locked in and I am making mainly bug fixes and changes when someone finds an exploit etc... to the intentions of the game.

TRP Europe is extremely playable in Single Player

TRP World is only playable in Single Player as the Allies (not Axis) due to making an USA Pacific AI being almost impossible. I tried its just not possible to get coordination's between Fleet and Invasions etc... so sometimes you what I call phantom fleets running accross with nothing to escort because the invasion AI chose not to fire (you also sometimes get the opposite).

But both versions are allot of fun in PBEM games.
