Decisive Campaigns: Ardennes Offensive v1.07.01 Public Beta

Post by MaximKI »

Hi everyone,

Please try this new beta and let us know if it helps your game.

You can download the Matrix installer HERE

To access the beta branch on Steam, you can switch to it by going to Decisive Campaigns: Ardennes Offensive in your Steam Library, right-clicking on it, choosing Properties -> Betas -> then choosing the latest beta branch from the drop-down list and allowing Steam to update your game. If it updates correctly, you should see the latest beta version listed as your version in-game on the bottom left below the "Quit" button.

Changes in 1.07.01 (February 2nd, 2024):

- Fixed bad combat odds preview for werfer
- Some smaller scenario fixes

Changes in 1.07.00 (January 19th, 2024):

- New February '45 Scenario added “Patton’s Drive To Prum”
- Fix png BIG icons for 13th and 19th US Corps
- Map update for Wacht, Plan, Werbomont, St.Vith: added locations: Amel, Mirfeld, Medell, Hunningen, Emmels, Breitfeld, Petit-Thier, fix position Ville.duBois
- Fix 277.VG Division 989.VG Regiment (wrong 289.)
- Updated American Officers library (added Gen. Blakeley and Rooks)
- Updated German Officers Library (added Gen. Kühn and Botsch)
- AI attacks a bit more prudently
- AI sees more interest on picking on (really) low morale enemy units
- AI better sees the value of its really strong equipment as for example Tiger Tanks
- AI made quite some reduction in its tendency to do excessive shuffling (but still some work remaining)
- AI tries to not overdoing the number of units joining in an attack and just freeing other units up for other tasks
- AI is more aware of the possibility to get cut-off and we should see less AI units putting their head to far down a noose
- Started work on a very big AI improvement (very promising results), but this is really complicated stuff and will take (at least) the remainder of the year 2024 to finish and roll out.
- Scenarios VP count in Victory Message upon actual Victory are fixed (but does require new scenario start with v1.07)
- Improved the VP bar mouse-over for Draw games
-Fixed a glitch where during the AI turn several human-controlled Units were put to March Mode
- Added some fallback code for a graphics rendering bug with the Prefs Tab in very low resolutions
- Fixed Combat Setup Window to include ranged units up to 32 hexes away (instead of 16)
- Added extra safety code around the Combat Setup Window to avoid crashes with the combat odds calculations in clicking to fast. I think this should do the trick, it was hard to replicate.

Hi Maxim –
A basic question for you: When one updates the game to the latest (now 1.07 beta) version, what happens to existing saved games that were played and stored in the previous (1.06) version? Does the map update, and units update, or are they unchanged? I suspect there is no change but would like confirmation. I may wait on updating the game until Davide indicates that he has completed the update of the Führer Begleit Brigade to include the missing Panzer battalion that is listed in the OOB. I’m not sure if there will be a 2nd v. 1.07 release or a future 1.08 release. Either way, I want the FBB at full strength before starting a new game. Thanks!

The update do not impact the savegames, so any game started with 1.06 can be continued with 1.07

The FBB oob fix for the Campaigns isn't in the actual 1.07beta, hope to finish last update this weekend !
In the Drive to St.Vith scenario the FBB Pz.Bataillon is present !

I'm currently playing the Puffendorf scenario, which I've started with ver. 1.06. Since the update to 1.07, offensive power calculations seem to be completely off.

I've attached two screenshots showing the differences - in ver. 1.07 the numbers are huge.

It's 1.47b in 1.07.01 and 1.44 in 1.06.
