Modelling of suppression

Post by flibby »

Am I right in saying that suppression is effectively modelled by making an enemy "use up" opportunity fire with fire from some units, then closing with others?

Yes, that would be an effective tactic.

Or using some units to fire and disrupt (suppress) before using others to assault...

Don't forget that if you can draw their fire before conducting an assault against the position, they won't gain a defensive bonus for not firing or moving. Drawing their fire will remove that bonus during the counterassault.... AND if you assault with fresh units (haven't fired or assaulted), they will gain an assault bonus on their assault.
