Nice job, waiting to test it

Re: A New Set of BTS, RA, and Treaty Mods
We have an easy one DONE with the old Between the Storms: Heavy becoming BTS: Fleet Faction.
If I can get about 2-3 hours carved out, should be able to do the same thing the middle ground BTS.
The BTS: Air/Treaty-Faction is the one that will take work and become an all-new Mod.

Re: A New Set of BTS, RA, and Treaty Mods
Would you consider a mod where the Army, instead of the Navy, expands to be able to conquer Siberia as well? Not so much extra naval toys but more land based air and ground forces with the attendant armored and other vehicle expansions. If you read about how the Soviets took their best units against a Japanese division that was not fully equipped and trained, you might consider the battle not to be a loss for Japan. Rather use it to consider improving things, especially with help from Germany and possibly Italy as far as artillery, armored fighting vehicles as well as motorized transport. This could include a "peace" between Nationalist China and Japan with Japan and Nationalist cooperating against the Communist Chinese.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

Re: A New Set of BTS, RA, and Treaty Mods
While talking ships and what will be available at start there is another topic that is important - yearly pilot experience. Both sides get training group which helps build up their experience faster, but I'll let John post the numbers that we have for each mod and if there should be any adjustments made there. Can someone please clarify that come '43 the Americans still have the lower experienced pilots from '42 to go through before the newer and higher experienced '43 pilots can be utilized from the pools?

Re: A New Set of BTS, RA, and Treaty Mods
Hi John and Michael,
Question regarding the aircraft - these were all updated with Symon's information - right? And that'll be the same for the new mods you are working on, too?
And lemme know if you need a tester. Now that I've retired, I have a wee bit more time to futz around with this game.

Re: A New Set of BTS, RA, and Treaty Mods
OK. Got some time to start working Between the Storms--Moderate. Need a new title.
This is the middle ground/balanced Mod.
--The FLEET Faction gets the heavy Mod with the 4 Yamato's, the 6 Light BC's, and and heavier CLs.
--The Moderate Mod dials back the BBs to 4 Owari-Class and 2 B-65 BC with the addition of 6 Niitaka-Class CA, and the 'normal' CLs.
--The TREATY Faction variant is not designed YET but we are talking about only adding B-65 BC, more CA, and the 'regular' CL OR, perhaps, an AA CL like the Moon-Class DD but BIGGER. We would add pair or two new sets of Shokaku-Class instead of the BB construction. Not sure... Could also allow more conversions from APs into CVEs? Got ideas but WANT some suggestions from the Forum.

Here is the BTS--Medium OOB construction plan:

2 BC of the B-65-Class (3x3 14" 31,500T 33 Knots): Kawachi (in service) and Kasuga (6/43)
6 CA of the Niitaka-Class (4x3 8" 16,000T 33 Knots): Niitaka and Suzuka (in service), Abashiri (6/42), Yubetsu (11/42), Shizunai (4/44), and Zenbako (9/44)
8 CL of the Tokoro-Class (3x3 6" 8,000T 33 Knots): Tokoro (in service) and 7 more during the war.

You are listing what the IJN receive but not the IJA nor the Allies.John 3rd wrote: Wed Feb 14, 2024 4:59 pm OK. Got some time to start working Between the Storms--Moderate. Need a new title.

As far as the CVEs are concerned, one xAP at the start of the game should be a conversion and not a new build. That ship also has a sister which could also be converted. The three CVEs which are in production are actually conversions of transports. There could also be more LBA for the IJN as well as the IJA.
I don't know if your mods also build the IJA submarine cargo vessels but those could easily be done away with. Regular submarines could do the same job but also carry torpedoes. You could also make the submarines cheaper to build which they should be cheaper than good destroyers.

Agreed on killing off the Sub Transports.RangerJoe wrote: Wed Feb 14, 2024 7:18 pmYou are listing what the IJN receive but not the IJA nor the Allies.John 3rd wrote: Wed Feb 14, 2024 4:59 pm OK. Got some time to start working Between the Storms--Moderate. Need a new title.

The AP-to-CVE conversions are actually in the Mod. You have to PROTECT them and then convert them.
