[1328.14] Scoring Errors in Chasing Aphrodite Scenario

Post by rmeckman »

I started to play the Chasing Aphrodite stand-alone scenario but quickly ran into scoring problems as soon as the shooting started. After looking at the scenario in the editor, I could see that many events have faulty triggers:
  • Sinking a Turkish submarine triggers both the Turkish Sub Destroyed (+70 points) and Greek Sub Destroyed (-70 points) events. Sinking a Greek sub triggers no event. This is similar to what was reported here.
  • Destroying a Turkish AEW aircraft triggers both the Turkish KC-135 shot down (+100 p) and Turkish AEW aircraft shot down (+100 p) events, but no event is triggered for shooting down either a Turkish tanker or a Greek AEW aircraft.
  • Destroying a Greek Skyguard SAM unit triggers an event for losing a S-300PM battalion (-100 p), another event for the Skyguard loss (-50 p), and six events for the Paphos AFB being damaged (each -70 p) even though the Skyguard unit is not part of the airbase.
  • Other event scoring errors along the same lines as those above.
In some cases the points for these events are not actually applied to the score because the event actions are not properly configured (often missing a side for the points). Given the number of scoring issues encountered in the scenario, I made an attempt to correct them in the attached file. No changes were made to missions or zones in the scenario.

Fixing this for a future update. Given all the scoring issues with the scenario I've decided to just redo it all completely in lua. It'll be much simpler then the 100 different scoring events there currently are. Points gain/loss will remain as they are now.
