Star Icon

Post by sPzAbt653 »

Does anyone have a Star icon for the h_CounterUnits that I can pilfer? Something like a star that is on a flag [like the Vietnamese flag]. I made one for the CounterUnits and that was easy because it is small, but the h_CounterUnits one needs to be larger so my childlike graphics skills aren't up to the task.

Trying to figure out what you need exactly here.

Do you need an h_counterunit sheet with the star already applied in a layer? Or do you just need a star that fits inside the background square of an h_counter?

Just need a star that fits inside the background square of an h_counter. I need to place it there, as the sheet already has other changes.

The scenario 3R (3rd Reich) seems to have the star you described. Hopefully you can pull it out using the editor. Looks like the star is entered as a text/name string.

That one actually works out pretty good, thanks Mr. Bones.

If the Red Ass has another, I will take a look 8-)

The Red Ass probably has a bunch of ready-made stars . . . he can do magic with graphics.

Is the star going to be part of a Campaign for South Viet Nam update?

And keep in mind your own advice.

If you're STILL making Panzer IIs after seeing your first T-34... you're probably going to lose.

Yes, Rob and I are trying to come up with a reasonable Vietnam Flag Icon. The Star from 3R looks like it might work, as seen below. Doing the colors is more troublesome, because we can't have more than one color in a field [so no multicolor flags for TOAW IV].

I applaud you for taking on the project. I looked at it once and quickly decided to go look for something less intimidating. I know your scenario designs are excellent and I expect that the community, especially the Nam vets, will appreciate your work. We all know the TOAW IV limitations and that a few corners will need to be cut, but none of that should be a showstopper.

For the flag unit icon (or any icon for that matter) you can have separate colors for the foreground (color of the central icon’s lines and symbols) and background (color of the central icon’s background of the counter). Multicolor flags, no. Two color flags, yes. I’m sure you’ll find a good compromise.

Best Regards

Steve, aka sPzAbt653
It looks like the star icon on your latest CounterSheet is working out fine in the Vietnam Campaign Operation.
I have almost finished converting all fourteen of Stéphane Moutin-Luyat scenarios from TOAW3 to 4, Thanks to your hard work.
Stay tuned for postings...
