When does the multiplayer 1939 scenario end?

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

When does the multiplayer 1939 scenario end?

Post by Ironclad »

I hope its not the end of 1947 as the historical end date for the war in Europe seems a much more realistic target when the contest is between two players.

Also I note that there is no option to go for an alternative date when hosting a multiplayer challenge.

As per the Strategy Guide, the game ends if a Decisive Victory is obtained, the USA seeks terms (either via DE 303 or DE 310) the USSR seeks terms (see DE 417) or in 1947 if no one achieves any of the aforementioned beforehand.

Thanks. I presume it was changed from the historical end date in response to popular demand.

Whilst I can see that works well for the allies if on the strategic offensive - an extra year and half would make a massive difference to their chances for vicory. For the Axis on the other hand its a different story. Frankly i can't see how the Axis, if they fail to achieve a decisive victory early on and switch to a strategic defensive can possibly hold out to the end of 1947, whereas resisting through to the end of May 1945 is an achievable goal. Btw I'm commenting in the context of a multiplayer game.

True, though those decisions are there to enable the Axis to win the war earlier.
