extra losses for the soviets in battle

HI ,

in the new multiplayer game we are starting , in some battles the soviets lost more man than those actually who fought on it , i attach the captures

is there any explanation ? those losses were taking from the pool ?

Units attached to the Airbase or the City.
In general they're AA units, Air Support squads that get overrun, etcetera.

All damaged elements that had routed on top of that rifle division would implode if the rifle division were to retreat/rout/shatter.

Routed and depleted units in the hex don't count in the totals for combat, but can be lost if the combat is lost. Same for the units attached to cities.
