Parallels users on a mac help

Post by coachi »

My game freezes up in every scenario before I even start the action. I have an m2 16gb. Set parallels for 12 gb VM. And 4 cpus graphics. Are there any settings. In game and in parallels I should be using.

You shouldn't expect any help, as Macs are not supported.

You may be on your own.

I do not use a Mac, but the following may help on knowing why the game crashes:

In the config folder there is a file, Command.ini

Open it with a text editor like Notepad, set this line to true, save and close the file.
LogDebugInfoToFile = True
Now launch Command and after freezing, post here the last exceptionlog file, they are in the logs folder.

Sure he can expect help. He's not the only one running on a Mac. From the developer, no. From the rest of us - happy to help if I can.

I've been running CMO and before it CMANO on my Mac using Parallels for years with no issues at all. My previous Mac was an 2018 i5 MacBook Pro. I currently have a M2 MacBook Pro with 16gb of memory. Parallels is set for 6CPUs, 8GB RAM, and no limit resource usage (under optimization in the Control Center). But it runs fine on minimum resource usage as well. Not sure what the difference is except maybe CMO doesn't put that much strain on it.

Short story - you shouldn't be having that problem with those specs/resources allocated. I know that doesn't help. You might try just reinstalling your CMO. You won't have to relicense everything. If it's a Matrix install, just go to My Page and download the installer and if necessary latest patch. If Steam, I'd try the verify files (or whatever that's called), and see if it fixes anything.

Hope that helps. If you try those and also the debug file, and have any more info, you can pm me and we'll try to figure it out.

Did anything improve here? One thing I just thought of is that I found CMO performed better with 8GB than 12GB memory allocated. I believe that's how it defaults. You might try that.

Saying that, I believe when I found that it was during beta testing of the 64-bit, which still wasn't running that well and I was experimenting with resources to see if anything improves.

My Parallels Hardware settings are set right now for 6 CPUs (of the 12), 8GB RAM (of 16), and up to 4GB for graphics. (My M2 has 12 CPU cores and 19 Graphics cores). The other settings to check is Graphics - "Best for Retina Display", and under Options/Optimization, set the slider to No limit. I can't think of anything else that matters.
