Japan adds two FTR and one NAV2 to the 0-box.
Will Allies add anything to the sea area?
Will the SUB be included?

USA has one FTR2 that reach the 2-box and three FTR2 various lower boxes.
USSR has LND4 to 2-box, and FTR2 to 1-box
CW has FTR3 to 2-box, and FTR3 to 0-box.

No planes, just sub. Roll something like 1-10, choose box 0 only, surface combat using 4 points and target X on TRS with ARM. If not possible, I give more instrucrions

Re: Rematch 4 player game (Orm, Peskpesk, jjdenver and Mayhemizer)
I’m not at home until tonight so I would like to ask a question. I know I have FTR2 in range to intercept Malta and FTR3 in range to fly full range. Are there any other Allied fighters that reach Malta?
CW Mosquito should have stayed in reserve, not fly to Italian Coast last impulse…
I consider using CAP at paradrop phase this impulse.
And another question. How many points of GS can Axis add to Malta?

Axis has 27 tactical air factors that can reach Malta. Depending, of course, on what aircraft is counted. 18 if only counting LND3 that has no other function (excluding FTRs, NAVs, and ATR capacity aircraft).Mayhemizer_slith wrote: Sat Mar 02, 2024 2:53 am I’m not at home until tonight so I would like to ask a question. CW Mosquito would be no difference for Malta. Only US units can be used since the Mexican Army declines any French, or CW, assistance.

Who was so stupid to send Mexican units there?
I assume only 1 FTR2 is in range and no other can reach even with full range?

Oh there was a picture too.
US FTR near Tripoli will fly CAP during paradrop phase. Land back to same hex.
Edit: I never really counted the odds. This is worse than I imagined. I planned to reinforce Malta, but there was always ”more important” units to ship.

Impulse #7 (Axis)
No strategic bombing.
Ground strike:
Germany + Italy:
2 LND3 + NAV3 Sicily -> Malta
USA has one FTR2 available for interception. Axis has three FTR2 on standby.
Intercept the ground strike?

Re: Rematch 4 player game (Orm, Peskpesk, jjdenver and Mayhemizer)
When I read div sailed out I was thinking it goes to Sardinia. In the middle of the night I realized there we multiple ships with it = shore bombardment. Then I remembered those paratroopers I have been worried so long. It all depends now on air combat. No pressure pilots…

Re: Rematch 4 player game (Orm, Peskpesk, jjdenver and Mayhemizer)
I have been thinking where those paratroopers will attack. Malta was the first option and Tunisia was the alternative option.
I lacked land units, so I didn't dare to leave Tunisia empty. I was thinking they would attack on top of my flipped planes. Not sure if that would have been wise, I have face up fighters there, paratroopers would be OOS and they couldn't use shore bombardment. Also leaving Gib empty was not an option and German MAR is sitting in port ready to go. I have never before lost Malta (except in my very first board game when it was empty). Taking it back is not easy as enemy can use DSB from Italian Coast which seems impossible to win in air combat. But the most important thing in this that I will learn. Keeping Malta will be more important in the future than getting an extra unit to France.

Impulse #7 (Axis)
Some German land moves in northern France, Germany, Poland, and Rumania, and so on, but I have no idea on what they were. Some German rail moves as well, I am sure. The Italian rail move was to send one GARR home to Trieste from France.
Japan moves HQ one hex SE in Burma.
Italy made no land moves at all.
Debark:
Japan:
GARR -> Manila
ARM -> Canton
Invasion:
Italy:
INF Div -> Malta
Time for the paradrop step. Will there be any Allied CAP now? Allies has 4 aircraft available. Two of those has range on Malta (one on intercept). Axis has three fighters within range of Malta.

The fighter near Tripoli fly CAP over Malta
And if there is paradrop as I assume, intercept the other fighter. Better fighter as front fighter.
Both land were they take off.

Axis tries to paradrop two PARAs on Malta. Three fighters are used to clear the path for them.
Edit: Changed the German ATR3 to front bomber.

Second round is a draw, but that is enough to get the PARAs through to the target.

Plane back to same hex
3 points of SB using single ship in lowest possible box (prefer CW ships and East Med, but maybe that is not possible)
Send the bomber and land back to same hex
