Steam Key

So I bought this game as soon as it came out, before it was offered on Steam. I have my steam key number but I dont know how to enter it to make it fully functional inside Steam. I have recently returned to Shadow Empire and enjoying its complexities. Its simply amazing how Vic can tie all these things together, and I just think if I can get it embedded in Steam , it would allow me access to more things on Steam.
