[1.26] AI Unit postures

Post by ssadd10 »

Manual says "AI Major uses same rules for Profiles and related Unit Feats". But it doesn't specify anything about Unit postures.

AI uses Small Pocket posture (locked behind Mind>90 and 33 turns being the highest) on Turn 9.

Is it intended?

Yes it is... but it is open for improvement indeed.

Thanks for a reply, Vic!

Maybe, if it is for balance sake, AI should just have an increased combat bonus, set in game difficulty settings?

Giving AI an access to all postures it wants makes AI regime profile somewhat... half-meaningless.

I doubt that all aligned AI simply have access to all postures.

Their government works differently from the player while still sort of following the rules, as I understand it. So your neighbour could have a very high profile score early game, and the 'Mind 80' regime feat to boot, perhaps as part of its starting state; and then just generate the posture through Supreme Command.

If you have the intel, you can check which regime feats your neighbour has, under Reports->Regimes.

That regime Mind profile is 27. It also uses "Hold the line" posture (Heart 40+) while having Heart at 30.

So, AI simply uses all the postures from Turn 1. Moreover, AI does not have any councils to generate cards. It buys posture cards directly paying BP.
