nice experience under wine 9.5

I pulled my hair out, trying to keep DW1 from crashing. I had bought it on a GOG sale and was eager to try it out, but the game kept crashing.

I ended up buying DW2 and DLC on the GOG sale, too. I'm absolutely floored by how easy it was to get the game to run on Wine 9.5. The game looks amazing so far.

I tried running the GOG version under Steam Proton without success, though. Usually, I get better performance with Proton over native Wine, but not in this case.

I ran protontricks vcrun2015 dotnet472. The game wouldn't start. Hopefully, my wine installation can handle this beast. Has anyone gotten this to work in Proton? If so, what were your settings? Since this isn't a Steam install, I need to know what additional Proton packages get installed.

In case anyone's interested, it appears that everything needed by DW2 is installed via the offline GOG installer. Evidently, the dotnet version 472 doesn't need installed with winetricks to register the libraries correctly. Everything just works.

The only thing I had to install with Winetricks was the dxvk2030 package, which shores up a few graphical issues. I had no joy with Proton, though. However, the game appears to be performing optimally under Wine and Nvidia Prime.
