BBfanboy wrote: Fri Mar 29, 2024 4:55 am Will be interesting if you destroy the 6 Divisions in Nanyang - maybe the AI will send 6 more to try to retake the base. You wipe out the majority of IJA strength in China through its piecemeal commitment to battles.
Hopefully.

But even IJA in Nanyang has proven tough nut to crack. And "doom stack" near Loyang has activated a bit too.

Looks like Mr. AI has gifted you some planes to destroy at Rabaul. IIRC, those Graces are pretty good bombers, and getting the Zeros on the ground is a good thing too! Grind, Baby, Grind!

I am also sweeping Rabaul with Thunderbolts, just in case, since sometimes AI gets runway repaired a bit and gets few Zeros into air.

Some musings.

I now have more CV/CVL/CVE than I need. Of course nice to have.

China is progressing quite nicely, my plan is to get Shanghai within couple of months.

I am losing 20something planes for Ops losses every 2-day turn, but that seems to be unavoidable.

It collapsed, they re-embarked and went away, I had 500+AV Chinese Cops there plus Base Force with 40 AV too.

AI probably didn't think that it's small unit would have had a chance...

Whole riverine supply/invasion thing is annoying. I probably have to put some bombers in China for naval search/attack because of it. And I own 90% of hexes on both river banks of Yangtze River with units... Not very realistic to anyone sail past.

This might be a good hint to aspiring Japanese players. Many Allied players would not be prepared that Yangtze River is navigable and one can sail Amphibious invasion TF up to it.

Of course would have to check the ship sizes first to ensure they are allowed to river.

Well the limit for estuaries is 15,000 tons which means most vessels can pass. Some players have tried mining the river but it doesn't seem to work there for some reason. It might work in Wuchang port hex. Others suggest that putting a coastal gun regiment on the shores will stop them, but where will you find one of those in China! Perhaps a Marine Defence Battalion if the Allies get a foothold that leads to the river.
