SC games not working correctly

Hello, hoping I can get some help here!

Just installed SC Pacific as I was lucky enough to get chosen as a beta tester. Here is what is going on:

I get to the main menu ok. when I pick campaign, I get the screen, but no campaigns are listed. Victory shows nothing. Cancel works. Same if I click hotseat or anywhere else. PBEM asks for my password, then just says connecting, but I imagine it's not up yet.

Going into settings; if I click on music (to turn it down) I see nothing. But if I hold down the mouse button and slide it down, the music will get lower and disappear (but the slider does not move).

I can click on resolution to change it, but the ok button only has the animation and a clicking noise, other than that it does not function. Cancel also does not work. I can hit esc. to get out. Exiting and restarting the game results in the music being back on.

The button for mods does work, but shows no mods (no suprize).

This is the steam version, so I tried to get the matrix version, but still haven't got it to download. I did install the program you recommend, filezilla, but I'm getting a denied message. If you like, I could try further to get it to work.

I tried turning off my firewall. I looked for the game in the exceptions, but did not see it listed. I use MS Defender.

Any help appreciated!

Also, I have SC Global, Civ War, and European theater and the menus work.

I'm not sure what the issue is, and it might be an idea to uninstall, restart the PC and reinstall, but any posts relating to the beta must be placed in the beta forum:
