Thanks for the answers guys! Only a bit confused by the below comment. The AI doesn't create supply TFs? Ever? Been playing AE since the beginning (and witp/uv before that), mostly against the AI and I've seen/sunk about a billion AKs bringing cargo to various bases. Were/are they all pre-programmed? Is there nothing like an "auto-setting" or something where if a certain base gets, say, below 2000 supply a TF is created to supply it? My understanding is that the AI only gets constant supply on the hard/very hard settings. Is that wrong? I guess my ignorance of how the AI actually works is pretty obvious.... :roll:

3. The AI cannot create explicit supply TF's;

I guess that if I ever play a PBEM as Japanese, I should lay an Ironman scenario.

Yeah, that would surprise me too. What are all those AI cargo TFs spread across the South Pacific doing? Unless they are all carrying resources to bases with no industry to use them.
Rice is a great snack when you're hungry and you want 2,000 of something to eat.

I should have phrased it better:

The AI isn't able to sit back, look at all supply needs (for islands), look at all supply sources (non-islands) and match those up, create TF's, and then remember those TF's are in transit so as not to duplicate, and finally to recognize when a TF is lost and replace it. It is a big enough task for the game supply alogrithm to take care of supply/resource/oil/fuel on a continental basis, forget the islands.

As you note, there are hundreds of little supply/resource TF's running all over. Literally running all over. Far more than in any PBEM game. What would that suggest to you? I've never had a dev confirm it, but I know what it suggests to me.

Again, focus on the WHAT, not the HOW. If the WHAT creates a desired outcome, then the HOW is ok.
