Torch

IIRC there was a problem in WiF that the limit on invasion range meant that the allies could never launch an invasion of North Africa with units starting in the USA. Will CWiF be adjusted to allow for this to happen?

Amen, bro!
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

You can invade in WifFE with AMPH's that have a range of 3. There are some in the US countermix (I think, NRBH) that fit the bill in 1942. So, an invasion of North Africa directly from the US is possible. Of course, you would be invading from the 2 box, adding 1 to the intrinsic defence of the hex, thus making your invasion a little dicey but if you have a lot of naval gunfire and air support you should be able to pull it off. In addition, there's the possibility that Vichy units (including intrinsic defences) will surrender before combat, permitting an invasion even from the 1 box in the Western Med. You could also use a MAR to invade from a transport (or anybody, if you're not using the AMPH rules) and there are plenty of TRANS with ranges of 4 or even 5 by 1942. The Americans have one fine naval countermix.

AMPHs with range of 3? Don't remember them.

Must go and read FE rules and check the countermix again.
