You're answering different questions that have nothing to do with the lawsuit. comment #1: "You don't want to live in a society where 'everything'.....". That isn't part of the lawsuit. Everything isn't on trial. Harmful video is on trial. There has to be some limits. Yes, there are harmful games which are videos.
No company is forcing anyone to buy and play their games.

comment #2: "personal & parental responsibility". That is a truth and is NOT part of the lawsuit. 9-year olds aren't at an age of accountability for buying cigarettes, alcohol, warning labels on rap albums, entering certain movies, allowed to drive a car, legalized drugs, <other-items> depending on local laws, entering casinos, opening bank accounts. Law is applied differently by age. 9-year olds aren't even teenagers. Access starts with the sellers. This includes Bars, Libraries, Schools, other adults allowing access to weapons, name it.
Yet the companies are being sued and not the parents for allowing and possibly enabling the child laying the game.

How many kids were hurt or killed because parents (with wonderful parental skills) won't install car seats, use safety belts. How about all the faulty playground equipment that companies KNOWINGLY produced that harmed. How about the Food & Drug Administration (that's USA) allowing addictive harmful foods that KNOWINGLY cause cancer.
Diversion, not part of the suit not to mention Darwinism is invloved.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt, you care for your kids and probably 80% of society does. For the 20% of bad parents (I made up this 80/20 rule, it's subjective), the rest of society has to pick up the pieces of those who fall between the cracks on government paid resources: Healthcare, Schools, Financial Hardship (aka food/housing), etc.

You know nothing about whether or not I have any baby goats nor does society really have to pick up the pieces other than for the victims and punishing the perpetrators. At least, not in the USA where this lawsuit is taking place.

But Society does do something to help the less fortunate whether you like that or not.

Thus, collective responsibility is something that effects us all. Well, maybe those who don't pay taxes, don't care.

who im to judge whole generation ? im just normal person which opinions are formed by life experiences, articles i read in news, with some info what is trending on social networks, yt and other sources. and person who interact with young generation too.
i dont know about your generation, but for mine it is normal thinking that after you will get your first work, you will need to work some time to get financial stability, and after it you will have to take mortage for 20-30 years to have own living, and then to your firm come young person with a dream of having own living in just 5 years without mortage, and looks insulted that you told them, that they dont find that amount of money there, and look at you that it is you who is crusing thiers dreams, not thiers lack of work experience or education.
did i mentioned that they view 40 h/week as something very demanding, because they will lack time to pursue thiers hobbies ? they want less work hours for same money.
sure, there are rational persons among young generation, but they are minority.

and calling many person commies, i picked it up from young generation which moto is basicaly "everyone who dont agree with me is nazi/hitler".

of course, there is nothing wrong to hold companies to some standards/responsibilities, but that dont change a think that yeasies way how to change companies behavior is to hit them hard where it hurt them most, thiers income, lawsuits are waaaay less efective.

first link activision vs pro gamers can be translated as greedy company vs greedy pro players. players allways have posibility to move to events sponsored by other companies than activision, or to move to different game. if activsion revenue will be greatly reduced due to lack of pro gamers, they whey will be forced to eighter to change rules or be happy with way smaller income.
but biggets money are under activion, right ?
so basicaly, pro players cry about monopoly that they keep feeding and alive. i found this irony hilarious.

a) sexual harrasment is bad and should be punished without delay, and need to say, blizzard fired persons for that, even before lawsuit.
b)unequal pay is hard to prove, because it all goes down to job experience, job quality and education. if anyone feel he or she is underpaid, have opinion of lawsuit under equal pay act of 1974? .
c) in relation to b, game development is specific with need for "crunch time", and be honest, why i or any corp owner should pay equal pay to persons, in which one is reliable crunch timmer, when second one will give you middle finger when need for crunch time arose.
d) quotas how much women were suposed to be at xxxxx, is complete idiocy. why i should wait many months for woman to show up for job, when male is currently avaivable ? when i look for coder or graphic artist, why i should care is he is male or female ? my primary concern is quality of shown work and time in which they completed it.
actualy, if i rejected male person based on female quotas he will have every right to suit me for discimination based on gender.
e) what i find extremly interesing that lawsuit/agendas pushing woman quotas are related to only high/extremly high payed jobs, like managers, ceo and similiar. no one ever tried to push them for low or middle income jobs like forrest industry, car mechanics, truck drivers...etc. try thinking why.

and while you are partialy right that technology law is relative new regarding other laws, but hey compuer games started to get serious money 30 years ago, so it hardly new thing. law did have a lot of time to adapt.
and no, game company is company as any other, so there is absolutly no reason (except some specific cases) that laws which work say for automotive company or oil company should not work for games company.

and computer games were here way before boom of 1990s. onlyest thing which changed is size of market of computer games compared to other markets.
