Air combat not moving

Post by Unieax »

Hi,
I am just got the game and I really like it so far! I am currently playing the Marianas Scenario as the Allies, but I am facing some difficulties. I created two Air Combat Groups from the Carriers I am given at the start. Then I moved them towards the Japanese Bases, but after a few days they just started moving extremely slow. Like 1 hex per day. They did not run out of fuel or anything as far as I know. Does anyone know what could potentially cause this? I attached a few pictures.
Thanks!

In the picture you posted it states under "Set Task Force Routing" that there is a Task Force 30 following. What type of task force is 30? If it's composed of slow transport ships the air combat TF 10 might be deliberately going slow so TF 30 can catch up.

Also check your routing controls. The threat tolerance may be set too low so the carriers will stay away from the enemy air units. The following task force may also want to stay away from the enemy air units. The threat tolerance should at least be set to High. Make sure that you have CAP up.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

Ohh that must be it! TF30 is a TF of resupply ships for the carriers, but they are still in port in Pearl Harbour. The carriers are probably waiting for them... I am going to test it tomorrow, thanks!!

Couple of things;
1. Retirement allowed is on so once the TF gets to its destination it will turn for home.
2. As mentioned above, I believe that you have Transports following your CV's. Bad idea. CV skippers don't like being tied down to slow transports....GP
