Interesting...

The article claims that "between 4 and 7" missiles were fired to intercept the four incoming threats. I generally find that in C:MO, you only get one salvo at the enemy with these kind of systems and I generally like to fire 2 interceptors per threat. The wording seems to imply that two salvos of SM-3s were fired at the threats and somewhere between 0-3 of them managed to escape the first salvo.

I'm starting to get the feeling that the US Navy has been understating the capabilities of the SM-3...

I am somewhat interested to know what secondary systems were used to pick up the incoming threats
