UPDATE: Based on Nikel's review/input I tweaked the Iranian Doctrine/WRA to be more aggressive.
I also moved the Radars a bit to make them more responsive to the IDF Strike.

Original: One possible Israeli Retaliation against a huge Iranian economic target. Not the one I think they would take but wanted to explore the possibility. These days when I design a scenario for myself I'm going for small tactical operations, not huge battles like in the old days. This is a fairly straight forward and simple scenario. Like anything I design you have six hours to choose the loadouts for your aircraft (Double speed there) and 12 hours to carry out the operation, probably won't need all 12.

BTW, IMHO, I believe the logical IDF retaliation is to attack the IRGC IRBM site in Syria, but I already did a scenario on that!

If you allow me to comment in your thread.

I do not think and would not like this kind of attack. Plenty of time to do it if the situation escalates further.

In Syria, I do not believe because they attacked directly Israel from Iran. You have to retaliate in Iranian territory.

Leadership inside Iran should be the objective IMO and Israel seem to have the capabilities to do it, though CMO is not an adequate game for that.


In my first test I have all the aircraft around the island shooting at nothing, no idea whether this is a bug of the game, chose the wrong loadout, the WRA, the game is too complicated for me or what :?

Typos I found: ab (regarding the Talash battalion) (description). County and formable (briefing).

OK, changing the loadouts and launching the aircrafts individually, I got the following.

One of the F-16I was lost due to the lack of fuel, nevertheless it was over Jordan, should it count the same? :D

I found the Iranian defenses too passive.

Al,

I love the size of the scenario. Thank you for making smaller scenarios. They are much more manageable, and they can be finished in one setting.

Regarding the scenario, how are the planes supposed to reach the target? Did the other countries give flight privilege to fly over them? Did I miss that? I'm good doing whatever, but I wanted to play the scenario the way that you designed it.

Yes, I just assumed Jordan, Kuwait, etc. would just look the other way.

Now a question for you, I'm having all kids of trouble with the Flight plan editor. I set up refueling and TOT and it just does it's own thing regardless of what I set up. Also I can't get the F-16Is to refuel on the return legs. The stupid IAF pilots apparently look at the tankers and say, "Hey what's that big thing with the pipe with wings on the back of it. Oh well let's fly by them until we run out of fuel and crash!"

Al,

I'll check it out. I do know that they were having some trouble with the Flight Editor, and refueling, so this might be related.

OK, I was wondering. I see three things happening...

1. Depending upon the waypoints you set up they either sit on a tanker and drink like a drunken sailor, they never stop or refuse to drink on the ingress!
2. The F16Is seem to absolutely refuse to drink on the Egress leg.
3. Aircraft don't take off at all and have to reset the missions totally messing up the TOT aspect.

I tried setting every aircraft refueling individually to "allow" refueling and go to the nearest tanker, no luck.

The defenses have definitively improved. Here are the results of new try with v2.

Minor defeat. Score 1250.

What do you think are the best loadouts for this mission?

There are a lot of targets, and hard to destroy.

This time the 3 F-16 losses were approaching the targets, of 4 armed with HARM missiles that were with the F-35, this is a mistake.

No losses due to lack of fuel.

County and formable are not typos?

Country and formidable, I think.

Welcome back BeirutDude, you've been missed!

Looking forward to trying this. I leave Sunday for a three weeks of work travel but I should be able to get some playtime in on the road. Unfortunately due to the current ME situation I'm prevented, by my work, from doing Israel/Iran related streams but hopefully by the time I get back things will have calmed down enough I'll be able to stream a playthrough of it.

The drones are too slow and arrived late to the party.

Great scenario. I appreciated the size and the situation.

I had very good results (no losses, all target out of action, Triumph) using 8 F35 in SEAD role with 32 Rampage and 4 F35 in stealth CAP. The F16I were loaded with Spice 1000 for piers and buildings and Spice 250 for the fuel tanks, arriving 2 minutes after the F35.
