Post by JeF »

Hi all,

This is shameless advertising for the Airborne Assault web sites, besides the official ones.
Enjoy !

Some new stuff

Post by JeF »

Hi mates,

as expected, I *BUMP* this thread as soon as the site is updated.
Also, it does not deserve being the last one ...

So here goes :
- three "new" AARs salvaged from the now defunct BFC forums,
- a couple of new links, including the Strategy Guide published at wargamer.com,
- the smaller versions of expansion packs, without the map cache, for the poor ones with modem.

Cheers,

JeF.

Golf33,

Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate.

For the others,

Golf33 has posted an updated and (hopefully ;)) easier version of his Force Value Generator. This Excel speadsheet is useful for scenario designers to produce randomised unit attribute scores within specific ranges.

Enjoy,

This is the official HTTR site. Since parting with Battlefront, there is no official RDOA site. But feel free to use this site for any RDOA stuff.

Drop Zone has ben down because the Matrix servers have been down. They have ben overhauling their servers this last week. Should be fixed soon.

OK, I'll stay here then.
I decided to 'got to have' HTTR anyway (since I saw the first screenshots with Nijmegen and Groesbeek etc.)

Is there a game with 101st Airborne at Eindhoven too?

Highway to the Reich (HTTR) covers all aspects of Operation Market Garden. It has four large maps and there are campaigns for each ( well the breakout by 30th Corps from Joe's Bridge at Neerpelt only last for two days - so not really a campaign ). The other three campaigns cover the three major airborne battles - "Screaming Eagles ( 101st ) over Hell's Highway", "All American (82nd) over Nijmegen" and "Red Devils over Arnhem.

So yes the 101st operations are well and truly covered. There are also a range of shorter scenarios for this area as well as some great "what-ifs".

You're not alone ^^'

Well - since Steel Panthers got their Megacampaigns - any chance that there will be something similar for the AA engine?

Imagine having to fight through all campaigns but the time of the reinforcements (XXX Corps) and shape of it depends on the prior outcome? Maybe having 'exit' points so one could send a part of the reinforcements earlier or resulting at a 'different' entry point at the following bridge (or other 'campaign segment').

Ohmy good god - I'm hallucinating something - how about a kind of 'rolling' map - there several are objectives on the map - if you got 2/3 of them from east to west and have all on the eastern 1/3 of the map the map saves all units with status et al then removes 1/3 of the 'start' map on the east side and 'adds' a new 1/3 on the west side - *g* ok I swear I stop using those drugs....

Hi,

After months of slow updates, The Drop Zone receives a new section, with a brief description of all three games in the Airbore Assault serie. Yes, we host the preview of CotA.

Small stuff actually. Mainly aimed for informing players about the history of the serie.

All inputs on the web site are welcome, even spelling and grammar errors. [:)]

I also edited the first post of this thread with some usefull links to AA web sites.

Happy reading,

JeF.

Looks good.

2 comments on the COTA section, typos "ScneMaker" "vehicules" and the link to the preview scenario's isn't working for me.
