Man, I am REALLY hoping they can find a way to make it so you install from the original disk and then apply this upcoming final patch over it - just two steps and that is it. Should eliminate so many posts from folks who get lost in the update weeds.
You should be able to do so. Just install the game into a new folder and then patch it. Use your old switches for the new installation.

I just did a fresh install on my new hard drive. From the original disc and then the updated linked on the first post of this page. However it shows that I am running 1.8.11.26b but my opponent and I have been playing 1.8.11.27. Where can I find a patch to get me to this level? Thanks.

That's how it is going to work. Load from disk, if that is what you have, (or DL of the base game) then DL and install 1127....GP

SeaBee should set up the switches, I just copied and pasted my old switches into the new shortcut.

So, mid-Year it is then?

Normandy landing or Barbarossa/ Bagration anniversary?

Why don't you just wait until Saint Nicholas Day instead? No matter when it comes out!

I had told myself that this last phase was going to be long; Matrix has a lot going on so this patch is just one more item to be processed with perhaps a priority nudge here and there by Erik.
It's anyone's guess as to just how long the vetting of the patch will take. Oh well, in for a penny, in for a pound.
Somehow I remain excited about the whole thing.

What is coming out mid-year? Are we waiting on something?

Hmmm. Now that I think about it, Duke Nukem probably isn't the best spokesman for release delays.

Comedy hour will be over as soon as we can play again. Hard to start a new multi-year commitment when a new version is expected within ???

It's been 1.5 years now. The Japaneese conquered the entire western Pacific in less time. :D

So how about they release it with errors to satisfy people who want it fast.
