Are delta files still required for updating scenario DBs?

Post by SunlitZelkova »

I'm wondering because for the past several months now, every time I try to update a scenario to the latest DB, it does so, but adds a second instance of every munition in the magazines.

So if there was 200/10000 AIM-9B at an air base when the scenario was first made, it shows two of such after updating.

I've been manually going through and deleting the second instances each time, but it has started to become bothersome so I thought I'd ask if anyone else has had a similar experience.

If not, I will make a bug report in the Tech Support section and attach a scenario.

I developed the habit of always using them. Been that since forever. Theoretically, you shouldn't need them if using standard sensor, weapons, loadouts, and magazines. But I had a couple incidents where not using an ini file seemed to cause a unit magazine mismatch. This was early in CMNAO. Since then, I always create a delta ini.

In my experience they're only needed for a deep scenario rebuild/update. If you made modifications to units; added mounts, sensors, etc then I think you still need them even for a normal rebuild/update.

Like thewood, I still make them for every scenario regardless. Only takes a few button click to make.
