(1) Thank goodness for Gort's & George's expeditionary forces.
(2) The Soviets are concerned that Germany could isolated the Soviet forces with a 10% to 20% that the turn will end before the Soviets get a chance to reestablish supply & oil lines.
(3) The Soviets had had 2 HQ, mot army, inf div & cav corps flip in their failed blitz attack which would be isolated and unable to reorg in such a case.
(3) That move would require the exploiting panzer army to move out of supply.
(4) Would Germany do that with only a 10% to 20% chance of isolating the Soviets?

Faeroes Gap. Bay of Biscay. Joint Allied Naval Command.
(1) Allied naval command is FUMMING!
(2) They have been strongly requesting a naval action for the CW but have been denied in no uncertain terms.
(3) In fact, the CW combine has been for MTO & even PTO operations and not for convoy and production support.
(4) Also, Naval Command is getting word that not only will Naval Command not get a CW naval next allied impulse, if the turn continues (80% to 90%), but that CW will take a land action even in storm or blizzard.
(5) The Combine Chiefs have made it known to Naval Command in no uncertain terms that tangible combat operations against Germany and Japan are of much higher priority that optimizing/adjusting allied convoy lines and production at this point in the war.
(6) The one thing that the Combine Chiefs DEMAND of Naval Command is that they keep the supply lines up and running.
(7) If they don't then heads will definitely roll at their command staring with the man in charge!

(1) The unbelievable weather gets even better!
(2) Germany will take a badly needed land action & Japan will pass.
(3) Germany is definitely banking on the 20% chance of the turn ending this impulse.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Axis #7. Eastern Front. Southern Army Groups.
Operation CS (Caspian Sea) or RH (Right Hook)?
(1) Both involve (extended) transport of II Para corps to [66,75].
(2) Soviets can't intercept but can fly CAP over [66,75].
(3) If CAP (Day assumed) then fly TRS (night), which flips II para.
(4) Actual want Soviets to fly CAP to use up remaining organized F2 wing.
(5) Finnish fighter will rebase and will have reactive intercept coverage of XLI panzer corps against IL ground strikes.
Operation Caspian Sea (CS)
(6) Operation CS has panzer corps moving east to the Mountains along the Caspian Sea
(6a) This cuts off Gort's BEF and the panzer corps has access to at least 2 flipped fighter bases and even to Baku if allies don't react properly.
(6b) In this case, Germany wants the turn to continue in order to get another impulse or two so Japan would take an action.
Operation Right Hook (RH)
(7) Operation RH has the panzer corps moving southwest, cutting supply and isolating all the Soviet Siberian Fronts, several armies including 2 HQs are flipped.
(7a) This isolation can easily be broken by the allies on their next impulse, if the turn doesn’t end.
(7b) Operation RH hinges on the hope the turn does end, so in this case Japan would pass giving a 20% chance of ending.
(8) Both plans have the Germans & Turks eliminating the Soviet 4th Cav corps.
(9) Which plan? I’m conflicted, so I’ll do what I always do when conflicted; roll a D10 -> (1-5) CS, (6-10) RH.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Axis #7. OKH.
(1) OKH makes the final decision on whether it's Operation CS or RH.
(2) D10=8 -> It's Operation Right Hook (RH), which means Japan will pass and the actions above are correct!

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Axis #7. Eastern Front. Southern Army Groups.
Operation Right Hook (RH)
(1) II FJR para crops extend transport to XLI panzer corps' hex.
(2) XLI panzer corps drives southwest 1-hex and isolates entire Soviet Southern Fronts.
(3) German corps & div mass to destroy Soviet cav corps.
(4) German & Turkish corps move and flank west the Soviet Southern Fronts, heading for Syria and Iraq.
(5) Turkish corps make contact with US forces Syria.
Extended Air Transport. Post Land Moves.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Axis #7. Eastern Front.
Southern Army Groups.
Land Combat.
(1) Victory assured but with a small, 0.5% chance of loss and flip.
(2) LC(+20.5A) RES: FOR(GPM<500)=766 (no), 2D10=11, LCR=20+0+11=31.
(3) Soviet 4th cav corps is annihilated without loss or flip. End of Impulse.
(4) Finnish Fighter rebased to within reaction intercept range (i.e., half-range).
(5) Do 217E (previously out of supply) rebased to Tiflis and is now back in supply and ready to provide defensive ground support (if needed).
(6) The Southern Army Groups got 3 of 4 German air missions (1 transport, 2 rebase) this impulse.

Re: GW Counterfactual Take 3.
Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Axis #7. Eastern Front.
Northern Army Groups. End of Impulse.
(1) The fine weather helped Guderian's and Manstein's retreat west.
(2) But may also help the Red Army if the turn continues.
(3) It's developing into a dire situation for the Northern Army Groups.
(4) Turn ending now would definitely be to their benefit (i.e., Northern Army Groups).
Finnish Army. End of Impulse.
(5) General Mannerheim is trying to get his Finnish army back into the war.
(6) The II Finnish inf corps is moving along the rail lines to gain control.
(7) The corps is currently flip but with 2 turns & full movement each turn he'll be able to convert 8 more rail hexes which would then link Mannerheim (& Murmansk) with German occupied rail stations.
(8) Then he'll be able to rail his HQ & Gd inf corps back into the war.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Axis #7. Western, Med & Balkan Fronts.
(1) All three rail moves & 1 of 4 air moves went to Rundstedt, who's now the overall commander of all German forces on these 3 fronts.
(2) Rail 1/3. Rundstedt HQ-A. USSR 58,67 -> Turin, Italy and reestablishes supply to German forces in northwest Italy and eastern Vichy.
(3) Rail 2/3. LXXI inf corps. Kerch, USSR -> Toulouse, Italy (don't want that difficult Mtn, factory hex to fall undefended and without a fight).
(4) Rail 3/3. GD panzer corps. Warsaw, Poland -> Vichy, Vichy France.
(5) Air Move 4/4. FW 190 F-3 F/B rebases from Vienne, Austria to Turin, Italy.
(6) Also, number of land moves made across all these fronts.
(7) In France, note the movement of SS cav and Wehrmacht inf corps from coastal defense duty towards and into Vichy.
