Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Stay At Sea. Post Return to Base.

Atlantic & Med.
(1) All 8 German U-boat flotillas, Sub Gps & Vichy Sub Gp stay at sea.
(2) 4 of these 8 Gps are organized, one each in North Atlantic, Faeroes Gap, Bay of Biscay & West Med.
(3) Not wanting to trigger a "free" sub search vs unescorted CPs in the Faeroes Gap or Bay of Biscay the allies make no RTBs of any ships through the 2 seas and back to the UK.
(4) Not wanting to risk TRS Gps (loaded or unloaded), no RTBs of these (obviously) to the UK or through the West Med to Southern France or Italy.
(5) All allied ships (and CPs of course) in these four sea areas where axis subs remained also remain.
(6) All allied ships in the Atlantic outside of these four sea areas return to base.
(7) Why stay at sea in sea areas where you know no axis subs will venture next turn?
(8) Well, these is one exception.
(9) Germany will be getting 6 U-boat flotillas/Sub Gp reinforcements next turn deployed to Kiel.
(10) 3 of 6 are 2-movers which can only reach the Faeroes Gap (1 of the 4 with subs SAS).
(11) 2 of 6 are 3-movers which can reach the Faeroes Gap, Bay of Biscay or North Atlantic (3 of the 4 with subs SAS) or Denmark Straights (which has only 1 CP & no allied ships to remain anyway).
(12) It's the 1 4-mover that can also reach East Coast and North Atlantic in addition to the 4 sea areas with subs SAS, so maybe a tactical error on part of the allies no keeping ships at sea in those 2 sea areas too?
(13) Germany is no longer to required to take at least one combine, naval or super combine per turn but may given these significant sub reinforcements.
(14) Gross Adm Donitz is certainty pushing for any one of the three action types.
(15) Will Allied naval command have to answer for what is now to believe to be an oversight of not leaving escorts and patrols art sea off the East Coast and Central Atlantic?

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Stay At Sea. Post Return to Base.

Pacific.
(1) All CW & Free French ships and subs off the Japanese Coast, China Sea & South China Sea remained at sea.
(2) USN kept at least 1 CV (with 4+ range CAG) at sea in the [4] -> [3] box in each of those 3 sea areas.
(3) The USN also kept a very strong BB shore bombardment task force [4] -> [3] box at sea in the South China Sea.
(4) All other USN ships and subs returned to base.
(5) Japan is getting 1 CP & 1 TRS Gp during next turn's reinforcements.
(6) They have 1 flipped TRS Gp in Fukuoka which can't and won't be oiled.
(7) The purpose of the allied ships and subs, which the exception of the USN bombardment TF left in the South China Sea[3] is too interdict any effort by the 1 IJN CP and/or 1 TRS Gp at reestablishing supply to China or any area outside of the Japanese Home Islands.

Isolated (Not Oiled/Not Reorg).
Germany.
(1) Germany chose not to reorg 1 U-boat flotilla in Faeroes Gap in order to save an oil point.
(2) Panzer and mech corps on Eastern Front are isolated and unable oil.
99-Isolated-and-Not-Oiled-German.png
99-Isolated-and-Not-Oiled-German.png (155.3 KiB) Viewed 1284 times
USSR & Free French.
(3) All Soviet planes supporting the Southern Soviet Fronts were oiled.
(4) However; all Soviet ground troops & a supporting Free French MIL are isolated and unable to oil and/or reorg.
(5) Remaining CW and Free French expeditionary forces in southern Russia are not isolated (yet) are well able to get oil and/or reorg.

Japan.
(6) All units outside of the Home Islands are isolated and were not oiled and/or reorg.
(7) All units in the Home Islands needing oil were not oiled and reorg.
(8) Japan has NO oil.
(9) I will say that if this wasn't a solo game and if Japan was being solely played by a human player that that player would have likely conceded by now.
(10) Possibly the German player would have taken over Japan in order to keep the game going?
(11) But that's not a concern with my counterfactual solo play.
(12) That is, Japan vows to fight on to the bitter end!

This is the reason why Japan needs to build a SYNTH during 1941. Sure, it hurts the building of other units, but it's so important to have oil available in the home islands...

A lesson well learned and not ever to be repeated by me. Will build both synths by end 1941 next time.
