Turn 27. Jan/Feb 1944. Start of Turn. Resource Lending.
(1) Moved the Vichy lend lease of 2 BPs to Germany "off the books" since it wasn't working in MWIF and was having to do it manually anyway.
(2) Effectively no change in trade agreements with the exception of the implementation of the Vichy 2 BPs -> Germany lend lease as described above.

Re: GW Counterfactual Take 3.
Turn 27. Jan/Feb 1944. Allied #1. Actions.
(1) Allied naval command is frustrated once again as to action type.
(2) USA will be taking a super-combine, which is great from their command's perspective; but both the CW & Free France will be taking a land (along with the USSR & China).
(3) The German U-boat / Sub threat is HUGE with 9 flotillas/Sub Gps at sea + 1 Vichy AND 6 just arrived in Kiel!
(4) However; the Combine Chiefs believe the only real threat will be the U-boats/subs at sea as Germany will need to take a land to respond to all that's going on in France, Italy, Balkans, Soviet Union and Middle East.
(5) The USN will just have to cover the threats those four sea areas with German U-boats/Subs at sea AND the East Coast and Central Atlantic additional threaten by the U-boats/Subs in Kiel.
(6) There's just too much need in Southern Russia, France, Italy, Balkans for a CW & Free Free land and US super-combine.
(7) Also, the opportunity as you shall see later for the US in the Pacific necessitate a US super-combine.
(8) Allied joint naval command still reports their command as yellow.
Western Allied Command (Reporting) Status. German U-boat/Sub & Surface Raider Threats.

Turn 27. Jan/Feb 1944. Allied #1. BOA & MTO. USN Naval Moves.
Contested.
(1) Though German U-boats & Subs missed on all 11 attempts to intercept, their expected number of successful intercepts over these 11 attempts was 1.1.
(2) Not so bad of luck as one might think on first blush.

Turn 27. Jan/Feb 1944. Allied #1. BOA & MTO. USN Naval Moves.
MTO.
East Med.
(1) Minimal reinforcements and USN carrier air support for the Middle East.
(2) Probably enough, but no matter all that could/would be spared.
(3) USN TRS Gp[1], if necessary will remain at sea and provide supply through East Med unless RN CP can be moved before end of turn.
(4) 2 CAs (East Med[0]) and 11 USN BBs (Red Sea[0]) sent for the Pacific to help out with the fight against German U-boats/Subs and for buildup and/or flanking invasion in Western France (couple of turns away). West Med.
(5) Reinforcements and USN air support for Vichy Bridgehead.
(6) Again, all that could be spared (generated).

Turn 27. Jan/Feb 1944. Allied #1. BOA USN Naval Moves.
Cape St. Vincent & Bay of Biscay.
(1) Respectable ASW escorts and patrols given USN, RN naval air & USN naval ship moves. Faeroes Gap & North Atlantic.
(2) Faeroes Gap is wide open but since allies made no moves German U-boats/Subs can't search, will require them to take a combine or super combine next (axis) impulse.
(3) North Atlantic respectable. East Coast & Central Atlantic.
(4) Respectable if German decides to send 1 U-boat flotilla, and only 1, currently in range.

Re: GW Counterfactual Take 3.
Turn 27. Jan/Feb 1944. Allied #1. PTO.
(1) There was a strong push for other commands to strip PTO command for their commands as Japan is on the ropes.
(2) However; Adm King forcefully and successfully argue to the Combine Chiefs that this is not the time to pull back against Japan but to finish them off.
(3) The Combine Chiefs agreed with the except of some old BBs reassigned to US Atlantic Command.
Port Strike. Fukuoka. Naval Moves.
Sea of Japan.
(5) Position to sink (hopefully) IJN supply CP (or TRS Gp) if sent out to get China back in supply. China Sea.
(5) Invasion task force that will capture Victoria, Hong Kong.
(6) Reinforcements led by Nimitz has the objective to capture Canton and push into China.
(7) Nimitz to provide FTC for himself and 3 US units.
(8) Strong naval air, bombardment task forces.
(9) And strong carrier strike task force to interdict (hopefully) sink the expected IJN TRS Gp w/WP reinforcement and resupply to China move. South China Sea.
(10) Invasion task force for Hainan and with MacArthur providing FTC for himself and 4 US units.

Turn 27. Jan/Feb 1944. Allied #1. Western Front, MTO, Balkans.
Air Transport. Western Front & MTO. End of Impulse. MTO & Balkans. End of Impulse.
(1) Heck of a lot of quality allied units tied up in the Balkans and in Italy.
(2) It's a double edge sword though as it's keeping German units tied up, which if not would be fast moving to the Eastern Front.
(3) Western allies will need to make some hard decisions on what to keep, what to send to the Western Front, how much effort and when to clear out the axis from the Italian and Swiss Alps and link up their Western & MTO fronts.

Turn 27. Jan/Feb 1944. Allied #1. Central & Northern USSR.
Combat Logs. Central Fronts. End of Impulse.
(1) Koniev's front is making an open field run towards a lot of possibilities.
(2) The openness, or void, will force Germany to take a land for both the rail and land moves. Northern Fronts. End of Impulse.
(3) Multiple Soviet Fronts moving in strength towards Moscow.
(4) In retrospect, Germany would have been better suited establishing strong defenses in the Moscow sector down to the southern Fronts vs making their push into Siberia.
(5) OKH and OKW just got too greedy and it's costing them on the Eastern Front.

Turn 27. Jan/Feb 1944. Allied #1. Asian Theater.
China. End of Impulse.
(1) Nationalist and Mao's CCP forces are racing east around the isolated, and mostly flipped, IJA units.
(2) Mao will pick his battles (i.e., land combat) judiciously given replacements are far and few in between.
(3) The primary objective is maneuver and to ensure supply remains cut even if Japan restores their sea supply lines to China.
(4) With US forces poised to intervene in southern China, Mao has no intention of risking his armies on anything but almost certain (land) combat.
